You will be considerably safer there. For now they have a good governor. We considered moving to the Black Hills, it’s just beautiful there. The problem is Mt Rushmore. If the country goes full batshit crazy, the lefties will eventually go to the Hills to destroy Rushmore and give the Hills back to the Indians. They’ve already had nasty protests in Rapid City.

Rapid City - my cousin retired there from the Chicago metropolitan area. Wife had relatives in the area. His house is on the west side of town - up the hill a ways. He sourced plants for his yard from Outer Mongolia.
The modern world does not need the big downtown city. It is obsolete. The laptop computer killed it.

What about the homeless being put up in a luxury hotel, does a trash concierge come pick up their garbage at the door?
And 8 months it was a nice place to visit.
My wife has always wanted to visit NYC at Christmas time, so we spent a week there last December.
We had a really nice hotel just a couple of blocks off Times Square, walked everywhere we could, otherwise Ubered and took the subway.
Streets were clean, people were nice, and only saw a couple of people camping on the sidewalks. And that was over by Rockefeller Center.
Glad we went when we did.
some services are essential.....you can bet that the racial diversity/blackmatter/lesbian/tranny/homo depts are still active...
South Dakota seems nice.....when we pass thru its just wonderful farm and ranch land....hope you make it....
