I don’t believe Vietnam has lied at all, about this.

The downside for me is that I can't get back there. All the flights just got cancelled again. I had my tickets for October and just got a notice from KAL that that flight and all others were cancelled and checked my Visa account and my ticket price was refunded already. I am not happy. I am beginning to suspect this virus was engineered for persistence. It could be years before international travel is restored. The Vietnamese authorities believe this thing to be a weapon and are not saying whether they think it escaped or was put out there. They are naturally suspicious of anything from China.
It’s probably accurate. I’m very close to the situation in Vietnam. They’ve been quite open about Covid since it began.
Interestingly we had ships dock in Vietnam months ago who caught the disease. But somehow they had no cases. Third world countries have the virus. What they don’t have is testing. They also don’t have fat old men who tend to be the ones dying from the disease. Who knew, being fat and glutenous would be so unhealthy.
They had cases. Something like 500 now total, but they controlled it.
This time however, it seems somewhat more aggressive.
Faster than it was before, maybe?

This virus is not going away. It never went away in Vietnam. It is merely harder to hide. The country is filled with prostitutes and crowded markets and restaurants. There is no way that they have not had a low level of virus for many months. Its just that the death rate of Vietnamese is very low compared to northern countries or first world countries. The slums of Mumbai have not had the deaths that other Indian areas have had. The people there are thinner, they are outdoors more. And they have had every virus under the sun. So they likely have immunity already.
Nouc mam is the cure.

I think North Korea just reported their first case, too.
They shut down the entire country to foreigners coming in early on.
They had teams of people enforcing social distancing and mask wearing all over the country.
They had a low rate of infection as a result..................

Not that I am questioning NK’s numbers, but there were a moderate number of cases, about 100 days ago here.
This was however, the first fatality.
99 days with no cases followed by a surge and death points a strong finger in the direction of deliberate ChiCom reinfection.
