If Africans had stayed in African it's a safe bet that there would have been the likes of Rep. Ilhan Omar's father who was connected umbilically to crazed Somalian sociopath dictator Said Barre. But what are the chances that Omar herself would have been more than a piece of meat or sidewalk beggar? (See: "Ilhan Omar Can't Leave Country Because of The Sins of Her Father," Mychal Massie, July 17, 2019.)
If Africa hadn't turned selling other Africans to slave traders into a thriving economy, even if there were an Al Sharpton and Maxine Waters, would they be the shakedown scammers they are today in the United States? Does anyone honestly believe that the likes of Stacey Abrams would be provided money and privilege to attack a sitting African dictator or warlord? Would Karen Attiah, global editor for the fish-wrapper newspaper Washington Post, be working for a major newspaper attacking white women in the crudest most boorish ways? The truth is heck no. However, I'd say there's a better than even chance that her ancestors were likely the very Africans who made slave trading a commercial success for certain African tribes. Attiah is from Ghana, and until the early 1900s Ghana was the slave trader nation Ashanti.

LOL, yeah...
See post #1. :-)
#11 at least Motown.... : )
If Africans had never been brought here as slaves, those here today would have been born in Africa, and working like crazy to get OUT OF AFRICA to the USA or Europe.
But they are already here and do nothing but complain and moan about how bad life is.
Ever notice that many black Americans often visit Africa, weep and wail at the port slave jails, cry and moan about how their ancestors were dragged away to the Americas.
Then when their vacation is over, they rush to the airplanes to return to the “evil” USA so they can complain, under air conditioning, about how tough life is here.
Instead of talking reparations, we should be talking repatriation.
That's not relevant, because enough of them hate living with and among whites right now to cause tremendous problems.
And, from a civilizational perspective, their ancestors didn't ask to come here and the living descendants of those ancestors did not choose freely to have white culture, white tastes, white behavior patterns and white aspirations part of their daily lives, either.
They are, so to speak, stuck with all that, and it certainly appears that a lot of them don't like it one bit.
> Ever hear of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. <
Actually, yes as Im a fan of Eastern European history. That Commonwealth was a voluntary union. No outside power forced the Poles and Lithuanians together. Sort of like the union between Scotland and England.
Probably yes, since all of them have been dead for a very long time.
“What if Africans had stayed in Africa?”
Wankanda!
Bible believers understand that God can use awful circumstances for the betterment of many people. Joseph with the multi-colored coat was sold as a slave by his own jealous older brothers. Joseph was humbled by this despicable event. He accepted his circumstances and persevered despite the hardships. Over the course of time, he came to work for the Pharaoh himself, because of his abilities. He interpreted the Pharaohs dreams about a time of great surplus to be followed by a time of great famine. His prediction came true, and amazingly, Egypt was prepared when the great famine hit. Many people were saved because Joseph persevered in his troubled times. I think there are parallels to what has happened with the slaves that were brought to America.
Why is it always African-Americans as if we didn’t know where they immigrated/sold into slavery came from? Do we identify all people from where their ancestors originated from? Are they going to start in with Hungarian-America or Icelandic-American, etc?
When the Arabs took slaves to the Middle East they castrated them and that is why there are no great reservoirs of blacks in the ME.
They should be glad their ancestors went West instead of East.
If only . . .
We be chillin’ in Compton yo!
Sounds like they need to take it up with the islamists.
The Africans purchased during that period were slave/prisoners of waring tribes. Those not sold were killed or made slaves of the people selling them. Fact is the day their ancestors got on the boat was the best thing that ever happened to them....not necessarily their ancestors!!!
The question of the thread was they could make a decision on the issue. It is a false premise, they had no choice.
Whether it was the tribe next door, or the Muslims, or the Christians, doing the slaving, the natives had no choice.
Are they going to start in with Hungarian-America or Icelandic-American, etc?
Did the slave ships transport 12 million Hungarians or Icelander to the Americas?
