If you ever needed some insight as to why Bill de Blasio is so colossally incompetent as mayor of New York City, take a look at his lodestar, the guiding model he instantly reaches to for an illuminating quote.
Here's the New York Post, emphasis mine:
During his weekly appearance on WNYC radio, de Blasio was asked about a recent report that said his long-held antipathy toward well-heeled private sector interests was jeopardizing the citys economic recovery from the coronavirus crisis. The backstory to the quote, as described by Politico, is how businesses despise him in his own city. They're working with the slightly less-awful Gov. Andrew Cuomo. They're fleeing. They're doing what all businesses do or eventually do when staring communism in the face: Getting the hell out before there's nothing left to get out. Politico notes that New York's economy under de Blasio "is in freefall" while government spending has bloated to untold levels.
In response, de Blasio admitted that my focus has not been on the business community and the elites before adding, I am tempted to borrow from Karl Marx here.
Hizzoner then went on to recite from memory a concept expressed in Chapter 1 of the infamous Communist Manifesto written by Marx and comrade Friedrich Engels in 1848.

I blame the voters...
I used to think de Blasio was stupid. Though he might also be stupid, I think is so thoroughly brainwashed (his parents were communists) that he is basically a zombie.
he does not use his real name.
his daughter makes AOC look normal, relatively.
he destroyed New York City, probably for decades.
no one is safe in NYC, no home, no business,
no walking child or woman or man.
no one is safe except for him.
I happened to have just watched a documentary on ole Karl. He was a lazy bum, profligate with his dad’s and his wife’s money, dirty in habits, impregnated the maid servant, had a couple kids die in infancy from the fact that their father was a drinker and a lazy dirty bum who failed to provide what they needed to survive. May Karl burn in hell.
I’m sure he knows Das Kapital chapter and verse much better that the U.S. Constitution chapter and verse.
Unfortunately, most Americans do not know THEIR Constitution chapter and verse. Gotta fix that - SOON!
Well I’m guessing you don’t live here so don’t worry about it tonight. Worry about all the other things you worry about :-)
are you get this upset about somewhere you don’t live I don’t want to know what your other problems do to you.
Nobody ever gets it. Nobody rules forever.
the left keeps crying about Trump and it’s already four years and in the blink of an eye it will be another four. And they will have wasted all that anger and hate for nothing.
Buongiorno
Voters, yes. But they were educated in Hate America public schools.
We let the communists enter and then take over education aided by the communist labor unions.
The voters deserve what they get. Enjoy the suck.
Voters are absolutely at fault. They are uneducated, ignorant of history, blame others for their problems and habits and are grasping. They are also a majjority in urban America. No suprise that they elect marxists and easily become violent. For the decent and productive that remain in such places, leaving is the most rational and appropriate action. Real estate values have dropped nearly 20% in NYC since May 15,2020. Those that can are departing.
Absolutely!
The author of this article totally blows the funny aphorism, though. He says, “What did communists use before light bulbs?.....electricity.” That’s not how it goes! It should be, “What did communists use before candles?.....Light bulbs.”
Not surprising, considering the source. Conservative news sources are not exactly known for high literary standards.
But... But... They’re mostly peaceful!
Don’t wonder why New Yorkers are fleeing NY City, never to return.
The likes of DeBlasio and violence drove them out.
NY City deserves whatever is left and DeBlasio and his lesbian wife can lord over all of it.
“Marxism is a philosophy so divorced from human nature it fails every time it’s ever tried. And its record is one of unmitigated failure.”
Marxism is not so much as divorced from human nature as despising of human nature. The left simply hates what typically drives humans, their self interests as opposed to what they regard as the more morally superior goal of common interest, and they use any means at their disposal to change that aspect of human nature. These include milder ones like propaganda and re-education camps to violent ones like torture, gulags, intimidation.
We on the right tend to think that human nature is fairly unchanging and we make the best of it. The left doesn’t accept that premise. They think that with sufficient force, punishment and terror anyone can be made to toe their moralistic line.
One must not dismiss the moral aspect of this struggle between the left and the right. In fact it is the key to whatever success they manage to have. They typically capture the moral high ground right off the bat by claiming that what their aiming for is for the “common good” and against selfish individualists who only think of their interests. This seemingly more moral position gains them a lot of support and sympathy among the non-thinking, easily guilted masses - the proverbial useful idiots, who then become their support base.
Sounds like a carbon copy of today’s antifa’s bums - irresponsible, lazy hypocrite.
Yep, I always thought he came up with communism as an excuse for his own laziness and lack of motivation. His life was shitty because he was "oppressed".
“I used to think de Blasio was stupid. Though he might also be stupid,”
... he is massively corrupt.
His wife has spent nearly a billion dollars on the “Thrive NYC” sham, with no accountability, and nothing to show for it. City policy and the public treasury have been brazenly for sale to his political contributors.
Fix that we start by taking over education the way they did in 1969. Then, after doing that, educate 2-3 generations of kids in freedom, liberty, and the greatness of America.
After that, all will be well.
