Last week, the EMP Task Force on National and Homeland Security issued a scary report on Chinas ability to conduct an Electromagnetic Pulse attack on the United States. The key takeaway, according to Dr. Peter Pry, executive director of the task force, is that China now has super-EMP weapons, knows how to protect itself against an EMP attack, and has developed protocols to conduct a first-strike attack, even as they deny they would ever do so.
According to the Center for Strategic International Studies, China has the most active ballistic missile development program in the world, so this is doubly troubling. China used stolen U.S. technology to develop at least three types of high-tech weapons to attack the electric grid and key technologies that could cause a surprise Pearl Harbor attack that could produce a deadly blackout to the entire country.
Dr. Pry outlines how China has built a network of satellites, high-speed missiles, and super-electromagnetic pulse weapons that could melt down our electric grid, fry critical communications, and even takeout the ability of our aircraft carrier groups to respond.

We tell the chicoms or anyone else for that matter an EMP attack on the US will be regarded as a WMD attack and will require a full retaliatory response with weapons in kind, nuclear weapons or both. On military and civilian targets since our civilian population was targeted.
We should harden the grid for the sake of a Carrington type event. Start now replacing old equipment at a certain rate plus upgrade any old equipment that has to be replaced due to it failing.
They fry us...We drown them...
Just because the U.S. is too cowardly to respond to the chicom virus sneak attack doesn't mean that an EMP attack which results in shutting down all the communist news media in the U.S. won't get a response...
I’m really not gonna worry too much about China EMT attack. They are not that stupid. They will most definitely not like it when they can no longer make everything in the world, or even feed their labor masses, when all of their manufacturing centers and rice paddies are melted and irradiated for the next few hundred years. Retaliation is a bitch!
At least you’ll be able to see what’s left of China from space...it’ll be the big glowing spot.
EMP might just be the way this country get annihilated.
I discount those dreams because that’s all they are, but China’s got a very short window of opportunity to destroy us. They are an evil and calculating culture.
Reality sucks doesn’t it?
It would not surprise me one bit if China/Russia are heading up ANTIFA/BLM protests to destabilize everything.
Reducing the USA to the 19th century would cause starvation & social upheaval. The US would have no option other than a full retaliatory strike. Slow death, Quick death, same-same Comrade Xi.
So put all your electronic shit in a microwave oven (it’s a Faraday cage) and hope for the best.
You presume we would actually pull the trigger, I don't, not anymore.
How long do you think those guys with guns will last after the complete electric grid meltdown? We would be all but helpless without electricity, and it will also shut down electronics on all but the really old cars.
You presume the leadership is somewhat sane, what if they are not?

I sat in a fascinating briefing about two years ago given by an actual nuclear scientist who was one of the team members who built the first EMP weapon.
High points:
1) theyre very hard to build
2) it takes a hell of a lot of atmospheric detonation data to even begin work on such a weapon
3) the Chinese and probably the Russians dont have the necessary data and would need to conduct many more live tests
4) our power grid isnt nearly as fragile as most think it is with local power distribution being the most vulnerable but fairly easily replaced if needed
5) the range of the effect diminishes rapidly and requires a pretty sizable warhead to get anything going that could effect even part of a state
6) the odds of anything harming us nationwide is almost zero
I went into it with One Second After on my mind. I came out of it not worried about EMP attacks; regular nuclear strikes are still by far the preferred method of mass annihilation.
Come to my house and find out
You don't have to be stupid, just blinded by greed will suffice.

We know who is on whose side. If a few Democrats think it better to kill a nation and start anew, they got a surprise or two coming. Rebuilding wouldnt start for a hundred years.. imagine the bread lines.. and no bread.
Those same dems will likely be the first that meet a fate they seek for others who do not see things as they do.
Time to vote them off the island.
We have to have a President willing to issue the orders and a Military that will carry them out, both of which can be lost on November 3rd.
Conductive soil would shield against EMP, to a degree.
I can survive a good while myself but 99.9% of the population can't and you know it.
Really?
I just moved to sand country from an area with clay soils. We had a lightening storm and it fried our phone line, which, like the electric lines here, are buried. It was the phone company tech who told me they were really busy due to the storm and the area can have outages from strikes 100 miles away, due to the sandy soil.
Was he wrong?
If you can attribute it in all the chaos. On tub off each coast - who knows where it went.
we still lose 90% of our population in the ensuing chaos.
