Now would be a real good time to do whatever is necessary to obtain a permit to legally carry a handgun.

You know, I’ve never been a big fan of guns. It’s not political. I’m not a car guy, either. My passions are watching movies and reading biographies. I’m not a total metrosexual. I also enjoy increasing the value and comfort of my home with construction and remodeling projects.

As I write this, I have another firearm on order and have permits for four more.

Hmmmm. Probably well intended but the entire premise places a burr under my saddle. CCW Permits. State government infringement? And the author has a "permit" to buy four more firearms? You need a permit in NC to buy a weapon? What the hell? Then again, since I do have a permit to carry I guess I can't whine too much. Just don't want to be hit with any type of charge that could prohibit me ever owning a firearm if I wanted to own one. As long as it comes with water wings. :-)

I’m in California and I’m not a celebrity or a Democrat in office, so my chances of getting a CCW permit are somewhere between hardly any and none at all.

MO used to have the same law. To buy a handgun, you had to get a permit from the sheriffs office—it cost $10 and they checked to see if you had a criminal record. The law was passed back in the day to keep handguns out of black hands. That said, MO repealed that law maybe 20 years ago. Now MO enjoys Constitutional Carry, no permit required to conceal carry. Of course you still have to pass the NICS to buy any firearm from a dealer.

I live in MS, a Constitutional Carry State. I am currently at the Department of Public Safety Getting my Permit so I can carry in Reciprocal Carry States. I’ve been here six hours so far. It’s a fuster cluck.
I am standing outside with some fellow Patriots in 95 degree, 90 percent humidity weather waiting to be fingerprinted.

I have a CCW in Louisiana and Florida. Have for years.

Couple weeks ago I started looking for an AR15 on line. There were plenty. So today I was shopping around for the best deal and except for a few off brand types almost all the AR15’s on line are out of stock.

Matter of fact I had settled on a S&W but took a few minutes to look at a couple others and when I cam back to the one I wanted — it was gone, out of stock. It's getting serious, folks.

Sadly I feel your pain, via a terrific boating accident, where all of my weapons meet their faith at the bottom of a very deep lake. It still saddens me to this very day.

Some people, such as myself, don't handle life changing events like that boating accident, very well. I still renew my pistol permit, but have no choice of what pistol I'm going to strap on for that day's venture. In my best cartoon character Foghorn Leghorn, I say, I say, it was a very tragic day indeed.

There’s an approximate 4 month backlog here in Illinois just to renew a CCL, let alone have a new one issued.

Fortunately existing ones are good for the duration.

Same in our county. Sheriff declared a 90 day grace period when the useless gov stops the scamDEMic emergency.

I sent my renewal in on January 20. I’m still waiting. The law says 30 days max.

From what I’ve heard getting a new FOID card isn’t happening at all. People have been waiting months for them. And here in the People’s Republik of Illinois you can’t purchase or possess firearms or ammunition without one.
