In the last 50 years I knew no one who died of the flu. In the last five months I had four people I knew die of Covid . Two were just 50. Just saying

Think of this like a game winning field goal. It was 50 yards to win. It went through. The other side is now saying no fair. It needs to be 60 yards and he had the wind at his back so he needs to now kick into the wind. If you ask if that will be the end of it, the answer will be depends on if you make it again.

Deceptive title

I know of no GOP “leaders”. Can you name a GOP “leader”?

The worst of this Covid-19 pandemic will be over by September 1. Judging from the NY/NJ experience it takes about 8-10 weeks for this virus to burn through a population. The Southeast and Southwest are experiencing this firestorm now and are about six weeks into it. The pandemic will be waning nationwide by October and won’t have the devastating electoral effect that these nervous Republicans are anticipating.

My county of 350,000 has only a handful hospitalized and around 17 deaths

https://scphs.maps.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard/index.html#/a27a4678ee04436599141f0168a64637

This is NOT worth the media driven panic we are experiencing.

The only “crises” is the polls are tightening.

You’re right, but the DemComs can’t do arithmetic, so it’s all frightening to them.

A generation of mice, scurrying around to avoid something that isn’t a significant threat.

And the measles were way worse. Did that twice in my life, ‘64 and ‘68. No fun. At all.

“twice as band as a bad flu, not the end of the world. It will pass.”

Second that...

The death rate is only about 0.2%, maybe worse in third world countries. We are not third world.

A lot of folks forgot the reason for the Trump’s lockdown. It was to buy us time to manufacture medical supplies and to develop treatment plans (current deaths rates shows that).

We can reopen with some common sense. Look at the Asian countries they are not lock down. We need to watch and learn. We might have a vaccine real soon, our knowledge is not like it was in 1918.

Yeah. I know two that almost died of the flu. And I know two that died of CV19 - except they really didn’t. It was just listed as a cause of death.

“And that is assuming those deaths are REALLY CV19 deaths. And they are mostly the elderly, rather than children. That matters.”

They are still dead no matter what age. All Lives Matter

CV19 deaths numbers could be wrong either in the positive or negative numbers. You have a government that can not balance a budget trying to count, what did you expect for accuracy.

I trust the Doctors who are treating infected people before a person in office before DC or someone on the internet. If my local Doctors and Nurses, some who I know, tell me it is bad, I believe them.

He folded like a cheap shirt on that whole gay pizza party wedding thing years ago. I didn’t know him then but when I saw him on TV he seemed incredibly weak. I didn’t want to judge him on one incident though

VP Pence should do what is right to ensure a republican win in November, step down and recommend Kanye as his replacement for the VP ticket. That would destroy the left and probably win us the house and more senate seats. But Pence is just like all the other “professional” politicians, be they on the right or on the left, he is all for himself, the country be damned. I have said it before, Pence may br the nicest guy in the world but nice does not win American votes. He is a wet noodle and really does not add votes to the republican ticket. I also understand that Kanye does not have a history of being Mr. Nice, but he does support President Trump and would bring a huge number of votes from all those brain dead Americans who look at the election as a popularity contest. I know that is a sad commentary but it is none the less the absolute truth and the sooner we acknowledge it and use it to our advantage the better. The dems know it and have been successfully using it for decades. Time the republicans get off the high-horse and start playing by the new rules of the game.

“Seems to me this spike in the number of cases will drop off quickly over the next couple of weeks.”

I was thinking the same thing. Their is a spike then the new infections drop back low five weeks later. The South never had the spike from March like the North East. We should know in about two weeks.

“It’s not going to magically disappear,”

And throwing trillions of dollars at it won’t make it disappear, either.

“Good luck finding a justification for the headline inside the article.”

That was my take also.

What’s worsened? Data collection and fraud?

Never trust the GOP. They never do anything in the best interest of conservatives. Pence seems to be leaning to their side. The fear of the mob is causing a lot of knees to wobble.

Just remember “GOP Leaders” got us into a hot mess, and more importantly second point I want to make is that

these “GOP Leaders” are not looking out for me and my interests.
