Kanye West has reportedly decided to call it quits on his run in the 2020 Presidential election, less than two weeks after he first marked his entrance into the race.

According to the Intelligencer, West hired campaign staff who were looking into getting his name listed as a third-party candidate in Florida and several other states, but the team has now been told the bid is off.

Steve Kramer, an election strategist hired by West to focus on getting his name on the ballot in Florida and South Carolina, told the publication on Thursday, 'He’s out'.

Why should we believe this? He just rose to two percent support in what four days? Let’s see and BTW why hasn’t this been reported elsewhere?

https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/kanye-west-drops-presidential-bid-report

A separate source, who remained anonymous, claimed to the outlet that they were hired for $5,000 to help West gather signatures in Florida to meet the state’s July 15 ballot deadline. The outlet claimed he needed “132,781 valid signatures from Florida voters in less than a week.”

I remember you inboxed me, asking my thoughts on Kayne's West "campaign" for President. Looks like he dropped out before I could respond back! 10 years ago, I would have said the guy has zero chance and is wasting his time, even if he sincerely plans to mount a bid in all 50 states, spend oodles of money getting on the ballot in all of them, and campaign nationwide.

But, post-Trump election and during the Celebrity Era, I'd say even some goofball like West COULD theoretically get elected president. That is, IF he seriously committed himself to such a campaign and launched it two years ago, instead of waiting until July 2020 for an election in November 2020.

But yeah, I didn't think his "campaign" would last long and I was right. Maybe Britney Spears "marriage" in Las Vegas lasted even longer than West's "campaign", which existed only in his own egomaniac mind.

I don't know who the heck would vote for him even if he did actually stick with it and end up on the ballot. To me, Kayne West and Puff Daddy or P. Diddy or whatever he's calling himself now are two peas in a pod... a couple of mediocre talent black "artists" (that only hip-hop fans listen to) who have an ego the size of the Titanic and are known for saying goofy stuff in public just to get attention.

There was a total lack of coverage, doubtlessly deliberate, perhaps this contributed to a loss of interest. Though I have to say I was not feeling it (though I didn’t Trump would run either).

FWIW there was one poll (that had Biden +8), it showed Kayne getting 2%, 1% from Trump, 1% from the aether and 0% from Biden. Not that I think potential Kayne voters were likely to participate.

Given his pro-life position though I would still take him seriously as a potential contender for the nomination in 2024 (if Trump wins, if he doesn’t that would hurt non-traditional candidates), he’d have a better chance than Larry Hogan or Chris Christie. He’d have work to do though, starting with getting mentally healthy, he is bipolar as hell. Hard to even fathom how he would (or wouldn’t) govern if actually elected.

I heard he had depression but not anything about him being bipolar.
