Successfully going after John Wayne is a major coup for the left. There’s more than John Wayne going on with this. They want to take down anything related to traditional manhood.
They took on the military and have been making inroads with policies and generals.
Boy scouts? another success for them.
Nascar? In progress.
Cowboys? They got a gay cowboy movie out there but have a ways to go on that front. They will go after westerns at some point.
One can only hope.
It's all about separating Americans from America.
The global Left wants the land mass. They want the natural resources that we, as a people, have been "shamed" into not using. They want the minerals, the oil, the rare earths, the coal, the uranium, etc.
They just don't want US using it to strengthen ourselves.
That's why they form these global "accords" that benefit them and exploit us. That's why they form these public relations campaigns to deter us from developing our own resource independence, and get our courts to block infrastructure expansion.
They want those natural resources to remain in the ground until THEY can take control and use them for their own global dominance.

However, USC began moving left when James Zumberge became president in 1980, and the trend accelerated during the tenure of our recent president, Max Nikias. Carol Folt, who became president in 2019 hinted that she would be thoroughly "woke" when some South Asian pagan deity was invoked during the invocation at her inauguration, and in her inaugural address, when she paid homage to all the PC shibboleths.

Earlier this year, the statue of Rufus von KleinSmid, one of USC's greatest presidents, was taken down and his name was removed from the Von KleinSmid Center, home of the schools of public relations, political science and international relations (where I got my first MA). Apparently, some articles he wrote in the 1920's expressing support for eugenics nullified all the work he had done to turn USC from a regional university into a world-class institution of higher education. Now John Wayne's accomplishments in building the movie industry are for nothing because of some comments he made to a reporter for some pornographic rag. And I fear that the "cancel culture" may have only just begun.
