3 States Account for 42 Percent of All COVID-19 Deaths in America. Why?
Foundation for Economic Education ^ | 7/10/2020 | John Miltimore

Posted on 07/11/2020 4:51:25 PM PDT by RightGeek

Few may have noticed that 42 percent of all COVID deaths in the US come from just three states—New Jersey, New York, and Massachusetts. These three states account for nearly 56,000 of the nearly 133,000 deaths in the US, even though they represent just 10 percent of the population. If these three states are excluded, the US suddenly finds itself somewhere in between nations such as Luxembourg (176/1M) and Macedonia (166/1M), where some of the better fatality numbers in Europe are found.

Why have New York, New Jersey, and Massachusetts suffered so much more than other US states? We don’t yet know the answer to that question, but evidence suggests it could be policy related.

...

Secondly, there is currently a great deal of scrutiny on states such as Florida, Texas, and Arizona, which have seen case numbers increase in recent weeks, a spike that began in mid-June after states reopened their economies. The implication is that these states dropped the ball by reopening too soon.

None of these states, however, has a per capita fatality rate that even approaches New Jersey, Massachusetts, or New York.

...

Considering these numbers, one would not expect to see a governor from New Jersey, New York, or Massachusetts lecture these other states on their handling of the coronavirus. But that’s exactly what Gov. Cuomo did, claiming his state-ordered lockdown “saved lives” and chastening governors who opened their economies.

“I say to them all look at the numbers,” Cuomo said, referring to leaders in the states seeing rises in COVID-19 cases. “You played politics with this virus, and you lost. You told the people of this state, you told the people of this country, the White House, ‘Don’t worry about it. Go about your business.’”

Death is not the best measure of this disease. The long-term effects are, and we won’t know that for a while.

Yes we do. It's because these states required the most vulnerable places in the states, nursing homes, to take in contagious COVID-19 patients. The fact that the author doesn't understand this makes the rest of this article worthless.

If you would care to read the article, you would see that he understands that quite well.

Get rid of a dozen Democratic shitholes and the US murder rate is the same as any EU country.

Cuz those people hang out in that human mixing bowl....new york city. Then they go back home and spread it around. Their hospitals and docs were not equpped to shut completely down their populations. Plus they did not protect the most vulnerable IMMEDIATELY. A lesson which will be understood and forgotten before the next time a new virus shows up.

That was a good read.

I hope the death rate stays low in these southern and western states. However, based on the rising death numbers, I don’t have that much confidence that the numbers will stay low as higher rates of infection means there is a better chance it will spread to the vulnerable such as the long term care homes.

If we want to stay open, it is so important to carefully protect the vulnerable while using proper public health procedures. I hope it is not to late but even the Governor of Texas recognizes the worst is yet to come.

New Jersey is the most densely-populated state in the union and Massachusetts is the third. NY state is number 7 on the list. state.1keydata.com

New Jersey is home to four of the five most densely-populated cities with a population of at least 50,000; New York is the other city on that list. www.governing.com

In PA 68.5% of deaths occured in Long Term Care Facilities after Gov.”Tommie the Commie” Wolf and his mentally ill Sec. Of Health Dr. Richard “Don’t Call Me Dick” Levine ordered these facilities to admit Covid positive patients.

I knew pilots from WW2 who on flying missions to North Africa told me they could smell the stench of the continent miles away as they approached land.

I wouldn’t be shocked if there was a coordinated effort to encourage infected people from NJ, NY an Mass to travel to more conservative states? There is nothing i put past dims.

You'll never see people from these 3 states washing their hands.
Ever.
Prove me wrong.

You are telling me President Trump (born and bred in New York City), who is notorious for obsessively washing his hands long, long before covid 19 came up, doesn't wash his hands?

Well Texas and Florida and Arizona are disasters right now with over 100 dead in one day in Texas while New York has only 10.

I think Texas had 10,000 new cases in a day. This might be old news very fast

Yes it is. It's the best measure of any disease. As long as you don't die, there is hope. Once you die that's it. No power on earth can bring you back.

Yep. There is reason to believe these Governors knew in advance this would kill seniors. They murdered them so they could claim higher death tolls against Trump and then take in the extra money. They have blood on their hands.

Yes, the worst may yet to come but because of the governors actions against Texans and their freedom and lack of securing the border with Mexico.

They already did that back in April and May.
Lots of New Yorkers fled to Florida and other states..

Probably the same reason the population of the US is only 5% of the total world population yet we have almost 25% of the total world covid deaths. Somebody’s cooking the books.
