President Donald Trump's campaign rally in Tulsa in late June that drew thousands of participants and large protests "likely contributed" to a dramatic surge in new coronavirus cases, Tulsa City-County Health Department Director Dr. Bruce Dart said Wednesday.
Tulsa County reported 261 confirmed new cases on Monday, a one-day record high, and another 206 cases on Tuesday. By comparison, during the week before the June 20 Trump rally, there were 76 cases on Monday and 96 on Tuesday.
Although the health department’s policy is to not publicly identify individual settings where people may have contracted the virus, Dart said those large gatherings “more than likely" contributed to the spike.
“In the past few days, we’ve seen almost 500 new cases, and we had several large events just over two weeks ago, so I guess we just connect the dots," Dart said.
Trump's Tulsa rally, his first since the coronavirus pandemic hit the U.S., attracted thousands of people from around the country. About 6,200 people gathered inside the 19,000-seat BOK Center arena — far fewer than was expected.
Dart had urged the campaign to consider pushing back the date of the rally, fearing a potential surge in the number of coronavirus cases.
Trump campaign spokesman Tim Murtaugh said the campaign went to great lengths to ensure that those who attended the rally were protected.
“There were literally no health precautions to speak of as thousands looted, rioted, and protested in the streets and the media reported that it did not lead to a rise in coronavirus cases," Murtaugh said in a statement. “Meanwhile, the President’s rally was 18 days ago, all attendees had their temperature checked, everyone was provided a mask, and there was plenty of hand sanitizer available for all.

And of course they can only see the one big event occurring was the rally. Give me a break. We can tell easily, ask those who test positive if they went to the rally. Of course that might not bring the narrative they want to convey as the cause if they actually did that.

I realize Trump has a huge struggle on his hands and it won’t be a cakewalk with everything the RATs have planned, but with the fate of the nation at hand I’m glad he’s the one at the helm!
They are advertising “free” Chicom flu tests on the radio here in Florida. Cases are going to keep going up because no doubt near every Democrat will go get tested. Guaranteed.

My workplace (large company) originally had us WFH until the end of July. But they sent out a notification in late June that we will be WFH with a thirty day notice that it will end.
But in the meantime, they said there were two issues they had to work with:
1. we will only have half occupancy when we return.
2. The post virus holacaust world is not a place for modern elevators due to social distancing requirements.
I mockingly said, “IOW, we’ll be back to work 30 days after election day.” ;)
The whole thing is a farce. Eating well (plenty of zinc in my diet) and drinking lots of coffee (allowing the zinc into my cells) makes me very low risk for ANY virus. No wonder I never get the flu and rarely catch cold, even though I rarely wash my hands and am an avid nail biter.

Remember the rules for Wuhan transmission. Only trump rallies will result in the spread of the virus. Riots, protests (liberal ones), drunken parties thrown by leftists college students will NOT spread the contagion.
The virus knows the difference and will only attack Trump supporters as they assemble.
All others are immune.

Cases and deaths are two different categories. Only the latter matters.
Increasing at a 1000 per day. By that measure, we would have about 60000 people dying each day. There were less than a 1000 nationally yesterday for example.

Trump has done an extremely good job of dishing it back at the press. Nice to have a President that doesn’t pull his punches.

Trump has pivoted recently and he is laying the chaos directly at their feet. It should work because it is absolutely true.
However, while I remain optimistic, do not underestimate the feckless nature of the suburban mom vote. That is who they have targeted and they are calculating that this massive voting bloc is vulnerable to this tactic and may decide to jettison Trump to stop the chaos.
The good news is that the Trump campaign knows this and they are beginning to fight back. The other good news is that unintended consequences are beginning to show their ugly heads and the backlash is beginning. The school shut-down thing is all theirs, the violence in the inner-cities (a real tragedy) is all theirs, and the BLM leadership is emboldened to tell us all what they really stand for and it’s not the suburban mom voters!
