Daphne Police Department officers were refused service by employees at their local Five Guys franchise, according to a report by WKRG.
Citing a “credible source,” WKRG on Tuesday night reported that a group of five officers had attempted to eat at the Daphne Five Guys after court.
“A group of employees turned their backs on the officers. One of the employees could be overheard saying, ‘I’m not serving them.’ The source said the officers walked out and went to another restaurant,” the TV station outlined.
Daphne Mayor Dane Haygood on social media wrote that he was aware of the WKRG report and had put the franchise’s owner in touch with police department leadership to figure out what occurred.
The mayor said that he “certainly hope[s] that our officers were not refused service.”
“I am offering to buy these five officers their next meal. Who else wants to follow suit to show our support and appreciation for our men & women in blue?” Haygood concluded.

Well, they are flipping burgers, so it would make sense that they each have a bachelor’s degree in African American Studies.
Well....that shift of employees is gone.

Five Guys owes the country an apology... and these ‘employees’ need to be fired.

I have lost count of the number of white little boys and girls in their twenties wearing masks that say defund the police.
The days are just pointing to blacks for this are over. The spawn of the last generation is against this in the majority
We avoid restaurants with black employees simply because we’re blue-eyed blondes which means we’re targets.
Well, at least they didn’t have to eat their spit burgers.
Perhaps our side doesn’t have enough peaceful protests to burn down businesses which make this mistake. Perhaps businesses should start having a sign: “We serve police officers. If an officer is refused service, the manager will fire any and all employees responsible.”
Good point made by you and another. Eat at a “black employed” restaurant and risk having food spit on. Best to avoid.
Are they sure this was what happened? There have been recent cases where an officer accused the staff of mistreatment, when it was not clearly as first stated.
A few weeks ago an officer said he found an entire tampon in his Starbucks drink. Management disputes that story.

Drug use is pretty rampant in the food service industry. It’d be a shame if that Five Guys got raided and a bunch of employees were arrested on possession with intent to distribute charges.
Hard to check out the cook staff in other than fast food places. I think it was at Red Lobster, where Jesse Jackson was a line cook, that he admitted to regularly spitting into meals he was preparing.

UPDATE: Both Daphne Police and Five Guys have responded to requests from News 5.
Five Guys Marketing and Communications said, “Five Guys and the franchisee are actively investigating the situation and are committed to getting to the bottom of it. However, no matter what the details are, we do not want these police officers, or any customer, to feel disrespected or slighted in anyway. We apologize to those officers and also want to make it clear that Five Guys and its franchisees are committed to fair, respectful, and equal treatment for all customers. We will continue to investigate the matter.”
Daphne Police said “The Daphne Police Department appreciates the outpouring of support from our community and from supporters of Law Enforcement across the country. We also want to thank Five Guys on a corporate and local level. We have been working through this situation and there has been total cooperation. The Daphne Police Department does not think that the actions of a few employees represent Five Guys as a whole. To clarify some misinformation that has been spread on social media, on July 7, three officers of the Daphne Police Department entered the Five Guys restaurant in Daphne. The three officers became aware of the mask requirement. They returned to their vehicles to obtain masks. All three officers were wearing masks the entire time they were inside of the establishment. The events that occurred while the officers were in the restaurant were unfortunate. We will continue to work with Five Guys on this matter towards resolution once all the facts are known.”
I strongly support video cameras on police officers at all times. They should not do bad things. They should not fake crimes or other “incidents”. And likewise, if people treat an officer badly, that should also be recorded. My guess is that the police are on the receiving end most of the time.

It happened at Chipotle. A group of make-and-dash Negro thugs who previously had ripped off the restaurant were refused service. Of course, the manager got fired. What a world.
