That is an idea worth investigating. At least it's creative thinking around the problem, not just giving up.
PGA Tour golf is in its fourth or fifth week already. They haven't had fans yet, but they are playing competitive golf.
If other sports cancel, yeah, but the Ivys don't have athletic scholarships. They also don't allow weekday football games or post season games, and severely curtail off season activities.
As many things as bug me about the Ivys, they have a proper perspective on athletics. At those schools, they really are student athletes.
Not just thanks to WuFlu, and not just the males...
Without the revenue that Fall football brings, I suspect there will be a lot of Spring sports that won’t get funded...
But they didn’t cancel the protesting.
ANTIFA and BLM can go out without mask all year long. No problem.
And maybe #WHINING too. :-P
I heard on a San Antonio radio station that Octoberfests in the area have been cancelled.
I guess everything will be cancelled up until election day.
Except blm riots and suicides.

Private universities are bailing:
tanford announced Wednesday that it is dropping 11 sports amid financial difficulties caused by the coronavirus pandemic. The school will discontinue mens and womens fencing, field hockey, lightweight rowing, mens rowing, co-ed and womens sailing, squash, synchronized swimming, mens volleyball and wrestling after the 2020-21 academic year. Stanford also is eliminating 20 support staff positions. [Men’s volleyball a big surprise.]
Stanford projected a deficit of more than $25 million in the 2021 fiscal year and a shortfall of nearly $70 million over the next three years due to the pandemic. The school estimated the cost of sustaining the 11 sports permanently would exceed $200 million.
Back breaker to college fall sports! /Heavy S
I’m mostly neutral as it really doesn’t affect me one way or the other.
Excellent!!!

The Ivy League is a “major sports” league?
Who knew?
There is a talent gap between the Ivy League and the P5 conferences.
The Ivy League may be in sunset. Their billions in booster funds will keep them alive for a while.

And all the BLM/leftist virtue signaling from their commissioner, sponsors and CBS has been so heartwarming. /src
Depends on the sport. For Lacrosse, Cornell is often in the Top Ten along with Duke, Johns Hopkins, Syracuse, etc.
