Once upon a time Free Republic was more than a group of concerned couch potatoes. When we detected a menace to the Republic and our values, we acted out with Freeping.
This meant that we used the power of our numbers to call attention to people in power that our values and the American ethos were in danger from the enemies within.
This is a call to action, fellow Freepers. Our country and our way of life is in danger. We must attack the false narratives about America. Gen Michael Flynn says a passionate 2% of our population is trying to bring America down. Jim Robinson or someone needs to start a Freeping list that comes up in a prominent view when our site opens up.
We must not allow a small percentage of the powerful to overtake our position on Americas battlefield. We, as free-thinking and acting individuals, must control how we will live and not allow a few passionate others to change our way of life.
To the silent and currently indifferent majority: Wake up. America is at risk of being lost in the dustbin of history to socialism. The very heart and soul of America is at stake.
In war, as in life, most failure comes from inaction. We face a pivotal moment that can change the course of history of our nation.
We the people must challenge every politician at every level.
We also must stand and support our law enforcement professionals: They are the pointy end of the spear defending us against anarchy.
Now is the time to act.

Some FReepers aged less well than others?
+1
Made a similar comment in the past week.
Thank you for posting this
We must be doers again, rather than hiding behind anonymity
That is my thoughts as well.
Most of the calls to action I recall for Freeping were to ‘freep’ a meaningless online poll. My actions now are to be involved in local elections.
Found it...

Its been written;
When its time to bury your guns, its time to dig them up
In that light, there comes a time to stand up, and be counted. Looking at the brave out there on social media who are on the front lines, using their real names and taking heat is inspiring and to a good degree while our anonymity hides us, it also deters the very community we desire to build. We desire to be a unified force, yet hide behind fake user names.
How many here at FR actually know the real full names of other freepers? How many face ro face meetings have any of us had with other freepers? Back in the day, FR bagd many active chapters with get togethers for active protest and rallys, shooting events, dinners and such. Over time, these numbers are less and less.
So I know there will be a reply; you first SW! Post your real name here. This is a more than reasonable demand. I have 8 months to retire, then no longer will need my security clearance. At that time Ill weigh the decision to ask JimRob if he can change my user name to my real name and reset my real sign on date back to November 2000.
Until then and four months before the election, I think that somehow, Somme way, we freepers must renew our face to face interactions, build tighter community and develop plans to get on the street again to actively be involved in this election cycle. Maybe its standing on a sidewalk with flags, maybe its as poll watchers, maybe its just meeting others, to develop community.
If this election gets ugly, it is this community that we build which will help us survive. How do we build community better here? How to we get of our sofa and interact in real life? Ideas are welcome.
I wonder how many freepers have become introverted because of social media, which, to many, has replaced real life social interaction.
My thoughts only

Like the chair of the convention I work on likes to say “great idea, go ahead”. You want it done, do it. Don’t demand somebody else do it. That’s how all those freeping happened, somebody drove them. You want some, drive em. Don’t about others not until you are.
I have thought the same thing myself. I have started petitions and asked others to join by signature -— and more or less got laughed at for the effort. I have posted the things I send my representatives and offered them for cut/paste for others to follow suit -— only to be told there’s no use. I suggested investigations and filing lawsuits against those who have violated their oath of office -— and heard that only bullets can fix this.
Bullets??? You gotta be kidding me. Bullets from the same folks who won’t even send an email, write a letter, or sign a petition??? All I am seeing here is a group of armchair gripers who probably don’t even walk to the refrigerator to get another/their own beer if they can get someone else to do it for them.
My frustration level with those who call themselves conservatives, Constitutionalists, Republicans, etc., but do absolutely nothing but complain is at an all time high.
true in my case, for sure, as far as street protesting goes ... but 'til the time is right keeping my ammo dry and guns well-oiled.
A huge number of “doers” got run off during the last Republican presidential primary. Mostly Cruz supporters.
It’s been right here all the time:

I never went to any FReeps, but I have kept up the tradition. A few weeks ago, I helped organize and spoke at a rally to reopen our government.
I’m also helping by donating to the legal fund for a federal lawsuit against the unconstitutional actions of our rogue RINO governor. One of the plaintiffs, a state delegate and congressional candidate is a friend of mine.
I’ve also spent time boning up in my state and federal Constitutions and make sure to bring it up as often as possible to encourage others to actually do that thing the liberals always talk about...Educate yourselves.
Yes, great idea, go ahead! Is a great slogan.
I post stuff in the California thread. For example the annual
Prolife March in San Francisco that draws ten thousand each year. Reopen California rallies. Recall Newsom events. Voter guide stuff before elections.
I post only for the stuff I go to! I have no idea if any fellow FReepers join me. I hope so.
I’m up for any protests/rallies in New Jersey and maybe NYC!
Speaking as one of those that used to do it, a couple of observations:
Active freeping is why i joined FR in the first place.
The percentage of active freepers was neverthat great.
But i am willing to start again.
Agree. Id be willing to actively participate and do my part.
How True That Is! I was in my 60's when I joined FR almost 20 years ago....now I'm in my 80's and I have not aged well at all.
It is. A lot of folks just want others to do the work. That’s how my chair uses it, somebody walks up to her during the convention and says “I think the con should...” and if it’s not a completely stupid idea that’s her answer. Most wander away, they don’t want to do the work. Some join the convention committee. That’s how I suckered in actually. I have a bit of a problem with folks demanding others act while they don’t. While I understand that things take time and effort and one might not have those to spare, don’t try to guilt me for not doing what you’re also not doing.
You walk the walk. Respect.
don’t know where to start but can we find anything racist that any say chief justice has said?
