Protests flared overnight in Northeast Portland, resulting in confrontations between police and protesters, property damage and fires.
Reports say police used tear gas to disperse crowds. Police have not released information about munitions used during the demonstration, which began Thursday and stretched into the early-morning hours Friday.
They did say multiple people were arrested and that businesses were vandalized and looted.
The protest, which was among others held Thursday in Portland on the one-month anniversary of George Floyds death, drew hundreds of marchers to the Portland Police Bureaus North Precinct on Killingsworth Street.
Police later declared an unlawful assembly and threatened the use of crowd-control munitions.
They moved to clear the area early Friday. Video footage shows officers marching through the street, which is overcome with white smoke. A fire also broke out at the barricade on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Killingsworth Street.

“A fire also broke out...”
It didn’t “break out” is was SET you spinning POS.
High pressure water hoses could easily clear streets of rabble rousers.
My daughter put her house in Portland for sale Friday the 12th, she got multiple offers, two for $50,000 over her already high asking price. I told her to not buy again until after the election, keep your equity and move cautiously, especially in Portland, OR.
Excellent!

DIM/LIB/leftists doing their “thing”. This is what you deserve when you elect DIM/LIB/leftist nitwits to positions of authority and power. Hahahahaha. Enjoy the suck. More popcorn!
You should have suggested she move away from that LIB/leftist cesspool of a city.
Should be tried on attempted murder (per article):
Rioters barricaded the exits of the police precinct they set on fire.
Police used tear gas to disperse crowds.
The right tool for the right job hat tip.
Vanity - I live in a town about 50 minutes drive from Portland. Could my town sue Portland for lack of enforcement of rioting if those rioting are causing our COVID19 case numbers to rise again, shutting down our county which isn’t even in the same state as Portland? Something along the lines of creating an attractive nuisance [to insurrectionists]? The difference in states would put it into federal jurisdiction to be heard.
