Pleading guilty when you know you’re not guilty seems like a very bad idea.

When they’re threatening to bankrupt and ruin you son if you don’t, it starts to seem less bad.

Yeah. But when agents of the US government are physically threatening harm to you and your family and when they hound you into financial insolvency; then yeah......

You are very very screwed.

It happens all the time. That’s why they call it “plea bargaining”.

It was the only way he could get them not to go after his son. And he couldn’t afford any more attorney-hours.

Well remember he had the entire DOJ and FBI against him. He knows the extent of the deep state. HE didn't anticipate what a game changer Donald Trump truly would be.

unfortunately, when you’re out of money, you're out of options.

Even when you’re not guilty.

Such display of cleared headed rationale is mind boggling. Too bad the stupid General couldn’t see that./s

I hear ya, but I gave up on saying that around here. This website is filled with people falling all over themselves to make excuses for Flynn. But nobody seems willing or able to answer two key questions:

1. If Flynn pleaded guilty to protect his son, then isn’t he now exposing his son to prosecution by reneging on his plea deal?

2. If he pleaded guilty for financial reasons, then why has he spent two and a half years engaged in all these lengthy (and costly) legal proceedings?

I haven’t seen a complete story, but I hope someday, we will. Imagine if Flynn had simply told Mueller and his corrupt team to F.O.?

Mueller first used Flynn's limited consulting work on behalf of Turkey to pressure him - claiming Flynn didn’t register as as working for a foreign government, even though it wasn’t clear Flynn even needed to - and many DC swamp rats didn’t either. After caving once, they then slowly turned the screws on Flynn, upping the ante and seriousness a little bit each time. His law firm was also pathetic and did little to help Flynn as he got sucked down.

Trump meets with Obama. Obama mentions TWO people that Trump needs to be wary of. Kim Jong Un and Michael Flynn. That was on November 10, 2016. Trump probably jumped the gun on firing Flynn and throwing him into the ring of fire that resulted, probably partly as a result of Obama’s warning (Trump to the opportunity to remove Flynn and take Obama’s bad advice). Trump was still a bit naïve at that point. So it isn’t like Flynn plead “Guilty” and then he was fired by Trump.

Citizen VS United States.

One has endless time, resources and money and the other doesn’t. Yep, sounds fair to me.

Should we hold to the same standard when some poor kid is railroaded into a guilty plea by a corrupt prosecutor threatening life and withholding exculpatory evidence? If the prosecutor is found out, I guess we just say, “sorry kid, you pled guilty. Too bad.”

97 percent

More than 97 percent of federal criminal convictions are obtained through plea bargains, and the states are not far behind at 94 percent

over charging and threats work to get someone to plea
