One of the Atlanta police officers charged in the death of Rayshard Brooks says he didn’t do anything wrong and wouldn’t change anything he did during the fateful encounter.
I have full faith in the criminal justice system, Devin Brosnan told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. I really do. I have 100 percent faith the truth will come out. People will see this for what it is. They will understand I didnt do anything wrong. I know the truth is what counts.
Brosnan, 26, responded to a call concerning a man who was passed out in a vehicle in a Wendy’s drive-through, blocking traffic, on June 12. The officer smelled alcohol, prompting a call for a certified DUI officer. That officer, Garrett Rolfe, 27, soon arrived on the scene.
After testing Brooks’s sobriety for about 40 minutes, the officers tried placing him under arrest. Brooks resisted, leading to a scuffle. At one point, Brosnan struck his head on the concrete, causing a concussion.
Brooks, 27, stole Brosnan’s stun gun, fired it at the officer, and later fired it twice at Rolfe. The second time, Brooks was moving away from the officer but was partially angled at him as he tried hitting the cop.
In return, Rolfe pulled his gun and fired, hitting Brooks twice. According to an autopsy report obtained by The Epoch Times, the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office declared the manner of death a homicide.
Brosnan told the Journal-Constitution that the death is a tragedy.
At the end of the day, someone lost their life. To me, its heartbreaking no matter the circumstances, no matter what. When anybody dies truly is something you never want to see happen, to have happen. I cant imagine what a family would go through,” he said.

“Does anybody know: do the tasers used here fire 3 times before a reload?”

It appears it is 3 times for the TAZERS in use by the officers on scene. Here is a 1 minute dash cam video of the struggle. You decide.

This is an invalid prosecution, fueled by political motives. The cop is innocent.

I think the taser was fired twice. They dont have three shots.

Brooks was acting like a drunk retard, pretending he could not understand anything the cops said to him. Every question, every instruction, had to be repeated multiple times. Brooks responses were rambling & evasive; he was obviously hiding something.
I was amazed at the cops’ patience. I would have lost my temper.

Rayshard got the officers Taset and fired at the officer. The real question is.
What if he had gotten the officers gun. Would he have killed one of officer or both ?
Would BLM and all these people bitching about a convicted felon being killed be upset about two dead police officers.
It’s more likely that they would celebrate it.

If I was a juror my vote would be “not guilty”...on *all* charges.

It doesn't matter. The prosecutor who's filing the charges went on record just a week or so before this incident stating that under Georgia law a taser is a *DEADLY* weapon. Not just dangerous...*DEADLY*.
That fact alone makes how many times one can be fired irrelevant.
Not guilty...100% justified.

"I would have lost my temper."
I would have lost my temper too, and I give those officers a lot of credit for taking the time to try to prevent them from having to use any physical force on the guy.
If I had to give an inmate an order 3 times, and he refused all 3, he'd be cuffed and taken to the box. Whenever an inmate balked at an order he was given, I'd tell them: "Look, we can do this the easy way, or we can do it the hard way, but either way, you will comply." Given the options, the majority of the time the inmate complied, but every-so-often one of those nitwits had to put on a performance for his friends to show how brave he was, and we ended up having to use force on him. As a female, I had no problem getting up into a male inmate's face, no matter how big he was. Once you got them alone, they turned into a wuss, apologizing about how sorry they were for what they'd done. I'd say: "Tell it to the Lieutenant at your disciplinary hearing."

I truly believe that if there were no tasers at the scene, that Brooks would have tried to get one of the officer's weapons. I read that he may have tried to grab one of the weapons from the holster, but that hasn't been made official as far as I know. The other thing I read was that officer who shot him was begging him to live, while doing CPR on Brooks.

If he had a concussion, I don’t see how he can be held accountable for what happened next even if it WAS wrong.

I appreciate this cop and I think his shoot was appropriate and lawful, but if I were in his shoes, I wouldn’t be optimistic about a fair jury in his city, or state.

I was just talking to an officer. He told me when a taser is fired there is a loud ‘report’ and flash just like a firearm.
You can see the flash in the video.
