The city of Seattle announced that it would turn a fire station into a community center for black residents after weeks of protests.
The city announced on Thursday that it would be turning over ownership of the fire station to the community in line with a list of demands given to the city from Africatown and other black activist groups.
"We at the City of Seattle understand the urgency behind making bold investments in the Black community and increasing community ownership of land in the Central District," the city wrote.

Stupid politicians think their demands will end now that they've appeased them with this fire station. It's only the beginning, because they'll never be satisfied. They will continue to demand this and that, and before you know it, the whole city of Seattle will be in their back pocket. Appeasement only emboldens these thugs. Have fun Seattle!
The whole thing is absurd, the spineless elected politicians allow this to happen. Let's hope there aren't many more absurd events like this in our country.

Seattle has plenty of community centers. Aren’t blacks welcome at each and every?? A community center for blacks alone violates the Constitution and the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
I did some searching, and I think there are two Fire Station 6’s in Seattle, an active one and a mothballed one. The one in your picture is the old one - I live in the Seattle area and recognize the style of a lot of the older stations. There’s another Fire Station 6 with a much more modern design.
