In a series of tweets on Wednesday afternoon, Trump called the bases named after Confederate soldiers Hallowed Grounds that helped train soldiers to win two world wars. He said his administration will not even consider the renaming of these Magnificent and Fabled Military Installations.
White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany also began her briefing with the press Wednesday by reading the president's statement on the topic.
These Monumental and very Powerful Bases have become part of a Great American Heritage, and a history of Winning, Victory, and Freedom, Trump tweeted. Therefore, my Administration will not even consider the renaming of these Magnificent and Fabled Military Installations. Our history as the Greatest Nation in the World will not be tampered with. Respect our Military!
The presidents insistence that the names of the military bases remain unchanged comes just two days after U.S. Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy said he is open to the idea.
A senior Army official told Fox News on Monday that McCarthy did not plan to change the names unilaterally, but instead will seek bipartisan support to do so.

Thanks. I jumped the gun.....sorry.
General George Patton says thank you.
Time for the moronic Ryan Mccarthy to go.
Could any of these limp wristed "progressives" even explain who Braxton Bragg was and what battles he fought in?
Don’s got to do a better job of who he appoints to these military branch secretaries as well as the SecDef.
Ask me if I care.
They would name it Ft. Trayvon.
I don’t think it matters much what the president wants, I think this will be a state by state thing; on the other hand, why do we care what bases are named for, and why DO we name bases after generals that fought against the united states?
Why is this still such a big deal? We keep fighting over statues of people, and now names of people. Statues of people are not “history”, they simply honor people who were part of history. Plaques are history, historical SITES are history.
Rewriting history is evil.
So nice to have a President with a pair.
How did they fight against the United States?
