Before the mid 1980's, blacks and others didn't care one hoot about the Confederate flag. At that time, it was just a flag.

Heck, I remember living in New York, and 18-wheelers would routinely drive the highways and major streets, adorned with huge Confederate flags on the truck grill. Not one soul shuddered, went to the floor in convulsions, panicked, cried, got angry, or whatever the claim is today, when the flag was shown.

It is just recently that race-hustlers brought up the flag stuff. If the Confederate flag was so bad, why was it prominently displayed in TV shows such as the "Dukes of Hazzard", all without any complaints from anyone?

I was born and raised in Connecticut, and for neither myself nor the people I grew up with (of every type) was the Confederate flag anywhere in the same ballpark. People are trying to MAKE it that now. The United States of America was always at her best when gracious in victory, and after the total desolation imposed on the Confederate states, it was wise to allow southerners to honor their dead and to see heroism and valor in the many things other than slavery that the South and even the Confederate flag has stood for. Heck, we even let the Japanese keep a defanged version of their Emperor. It is the Neo-Marxists and South haters who are trying to make a thing where there wasn't a thing for a VERY long time.
