On Fox News recently, Bret Baier interviewed BET founder Robert Johnson, who has called for reparations for slavery. Mr. Johnson has proposed $14 trillion for 40 million black Americans. The potential for reparations payments would be a privilege for certain Americans at the cost to others who were not responsible for slavery.

Reparations appears integrally entangled with the notion of privilege. Privilege, or white privilege, is a purposefully ambiguous concept. What exactly is the privilege that non-black Americans enjoy that is unavailable to black Americans in our country, and why does the financially successful founder of BET believe that African-Americans cannot possess this privilege that he apparently also enjoys? Is privilege simply money?
Speaking for myself, my own privilege is not based on the color of my skin. My privilege generally arises from family, religion, responsibility, and morality.
I was raised in a two-parent family, a mother and a father, who provided me with a stable home and the unique values and guidance that come from each separately and combine to put a person out into the world in a decent situation. Go to school and get good grades, do your homework, do this good thing and don't do that bad thing, be a good person.

Thank you for putting this so succinctly. I would not have supported the idea of human chattel, but the idea that they're somehow better off in Africa is quizzical. I work with blacks who emigrated here within the last 10 years from Nairobi, Chad, Mali, and Niger, and they're all wondering what the Hell American blacks are thinking.

So he’s talking about $350,000 per person. If you have no financial background, you have no long term plan, you’re impulsive with money, you can be right back where you started in less than 5 years. Maybe way less.
End Racial Preferences, Gender Preferences and ensure all candidates or applicants are judged on the quality of their character and ability to perform best in a school or job. Therefore, the best from each gender and each gender’s race will be chosen in order fill positions delegated for fill by gender and/or race.
I for one would dearly like to know just exactly what white privilege is I’ve read some definitions but the words used don’t mean anything, just some esoteric wordy nonsense. Those words are bandied about like everything that some ethnic person doesn’t like is racist.
The truth is that a black man who is murdered, is 93 times out of 100, going to be murdered by another black. However, there are no protests about that because it does not promote the black "gimmee dat free stuff" narrative.
The whole reparations/civil rights narrative is a scam and needs to be abandoned. But as long as politicians can pimp themselves, they'll do whatever necessary to buy the black vote. Because the black vote is obviously easily bought and sold.
I will happily pay reparations to any former slave that my parents, or even my grandparents owned.
I hear these hucksters talk about reparations made to the families of Holocaust and Roosevelt’s Japanese internment camps, but the big difference is that those payments are made directly to the victims and their children.
None of those demanding reparations are even the grandchildren of slaves.

Reparations were paid in the form of 700,000 soldiers dead between 1861 and 1865. Ad to that tens of thousands of arms, legs, eyes lost to the same.
Reparations have been paid in blood sacrifice.
I always remember Rodney King, who got millions for being beaten by cops. Within a few years he was flat broke.

I have been here in the USA 35 years and have not seen white privilege. What is rampant is ‘black priviledge’ where black get breaks that no one else gets. It is racism in my opinion.
