Martin Gugino — the 75-year-old man who was shoved to the ground by Buffalo police in a video seen by millions — is a long-time peace activist and “gentle person,” according to friends.
The resident of Amherst in Erie County is a member of the People United for Sustainable Housing Buffalo and anti-nuclear group Kings BayPlowshares, the Buffalo News reported.
“He’s a gentle person who really believes that he must stand up for what he thinks is right,” said Gugino’s pal Terrence Bisson. “That’s why he went to the demonstration. He would never resist physically any kind of orders. He’s a bit frail, not because of his age. He has some health problems.”

A cop stopped and called and ambulance and a Mdeic was there within a minute.
This whole thing couldn't have been more than two minutes long.

Makes you wonder how he survived 75 years if he is dumb enough to think cops on a skirmish line moving forward are going to stand around and talk to him.
When you are pushed backwards, it’s hard to recover. He was shoved pretty good...The cop was NOT Gentle Ben. He should have stopped immediately.
Then you did not WATCH the video. You read the captions and assumed you saw what was in the video.
Go back. Watch the old guy’s right hand. Watch the push. What happened to cause the officer to react?
That is how you watch this stuff. If you don’t agree, that’s cool. I won’t call you names. But I think there are a lot of videos out that we are not watching closely.
