the entire Emergency Response Team at the Buffalo Police Department has resigned in a show of solidarity for the cops suspended for shoving an elderly man to the ground.
A total of about 57 officers walked off the job Friday, though they are still employed with the police department -- just no longer on the ERT ... according to WIVB reporter Dave Greber.
The move comes less than 24 hours after video surfaced showing cops in heavy gear shoving 75-year-old Martin Gugino even though he was NOT being physically confrontational. A rep for Buffalo PD allegedly told a lcoal reporter the man was injured when he "tripped and fell," but the video shows that's clearly not the case.
Gugino started bleeding from his head and lay motionless immediately after his head hit the pavement.
The Buffalo Police Commissioner took swift action in announcing the 2 officers involved were suspended without pay. The Mayor of Buffalo said he was deeply disturbed over the incident, adding the elderly man is in serious but stable condition.

You can’t touch a cop.
That said, the proper response was to arrest his geezery butt and let him spend a night in the klink.
Those two LEOs don’t belong on a police force.
We retired to SW Florida. Very conservative area. We love it. Trying to get my sons down here after all this madness. Have one in Staten Island and one in Monmouth County, NJ.
i wonder if Floyd had a will leaving anything to his GF
what a mess that will be as it comes time to divvy up his multimillions
He touched two officers with his phone as he stood in their line of march.
boo freakin hoo
The old man WAS being confrontational.
Watch him trying to tap the cops with his phone as they advanced, ordering people to clear the street.
Watch what happens when he gets close enough to grab the cops sidearm. BOOM. Pushed away.
His own fookery caused that incident,
Aint no cop gonna allow that
I’d like to see the Police in NYC have a Sick-Out, give the Dems what they want.
Imagine. No police force between the Elites and Rioters.
It’s an express elevator to Hell.
Who they gonna call? Ghostbusters?
Extra delicious sauce for the goose.
That old man won a Darwin award. Usually by that age you have learned not to poke a bear, keep hands out from underneath running lawn mowers, look both ways before crossing streets, and you dont march strait into riot police moving your way expecting them to give way.
Arresting him would have taken two officers and a car and left them short handed.
They were there to clear the streets.
The idiot tried to stop them.
He got what he deserved.
We are asking a LOT of cops in this instance, becasue we know that a 70-year-old man can pull a trigger about as well as a 20-year-old.
Should the cops have known he had a phone, not a gun? It’s not like they didn’t have a hundred things to watch out for; he could also have had a knife.
They pushed him back, not terribly hard. Did the KNOW he was 70 years old, they had like a second to respond, and they are supposed to immediately know that a guy coming up to them is old, frail, unarmed, and means no harm — remember, it’s not like they shot him, they just pushed him away.
Dude stood in the face of phalanx and couldn’t see that coming?
Good, that’s a start.......Would like to see the whole force walk off the job or resign and leave the streets up to the rioters and the mayor.......
A judge and jury decide punishment, not the police.
Illuminating picture.
Never in my 62 years have I encountered a large unit of policeman in riot gear marching in one direction.
But if I had, my first reaction would be to get out of their way as quickly as my legs could carry me.
Rioters?
Hell, the police should show up, draw a crowd and then just walk away.
They were on the move
Not gonna break the line
That old fart was toying with them but could have been trying to grab a sidearm . Watch the vid
Andrew Cuomo played this at his conference. I really wish that, right after he finished, some old guy in teh front row (I would volunteer) would have jumped up, ran up to him on stage, and pulled out his phone to touch him with it.
My guess is he would have pushed the person back, if his security detail didn’t jump in first.
Then I’d ask him: “Should your security detail be fired, they just pushed and attacked an old protester with a phone”
