A Deliberately Bankrupted America
American Thinker.com ^ | June 5, 2020 | Mark Jarrett

Why are the cities burning? African Americans have been a part of our history since our nation’s founding -- they fought for independence. They are found on the Supreme Court, in military leadership, as prominent mayors, Members of Congress, academics, authors, cabinet secretaries, ambassadors, police chiefs, surgeons, business owners, entertainers, athletes, astronauts, and CEOs. A 75% white America even voted twice to choose an African American leader. If so much progress has been made, why are the nation’s cities -- some led by African American mayors, with a diverse police force often led by non-white police chiefs -- burning?

Could this be the end result of choices made over time by some of our leaders to bankrupt America and African-Americans economically, morally, educationally, and spiritually?

The Free Trade Agreements from ‘94 to ‘01, with NAFTA, and then with China, bankrupted the nation economically. The ‘sucking sound’ of factories closing and millions of jobs disappearing hit both sides of the border. Millions of Mexican family farmers could not compete with American agribusiness, lost their farms .and began the trek northward. Those men (in the words of the times) worked ‘twice as hard as black men, for half the pay’. Systemic unemployment enabled by free trade and open borders was made worse by floods of drugs brought by the Colombian and Mexican Cartels, and synthetic drugs manufactured in Chinese factories.

This is a very pessimistic view of our society. I wish I could say it over-states the problem. But, I’m not sure it does.

Every day now, I see some black ‘leader’ saying “we need to burn the whole system down and rebuild it in a way that doesn’t build in systemic white superiority”.

I keep wondering: What does that even mean? Burn all what down?

How will black people ever advance themselves when they refuse to acknowledge, even in the slightest way, the destruction of the culture done by their own hands? I don’t see any of that. It’s easier to simply blame others.

They way I see it: Their culture is already burned down. It’s time to start re-building in a way that leads to success: 1) Get Educated, 2) Get married, and 3) Stay off drugs.

The more a group is pandered to,
the more pandering they will expect.

. . . and the more ungrateful - and thus unhappy (5 minute PragerU video) they will be.

‘They are found on the Supreme Court, in military leadership, as prominent mayors, Members of Congress, academics, authors, cabinet secretaries, ambassadors, police chiefs, surgeons, business owners, entertainers, athletes, astronauts, and CEOs.’

But mostly in our prisons, jails, and on posters hanging in the Post Office.

There are Americans who came from Africa, and African-Americans, and many other hyphen-American hybrids. It's a literal, grammatical dividing of identity and loyalties. A false unity.

Live by the hyphen, die by the hyphen. America is the land of the free, not a place for people who require bars.

America — the head nation of the world, formed by a people gathered out of the nations. There's no hyphen in this place.

"Don't confuse the dash (—) with the hyphen (-): the dash is longer."

Why are the cities burning?

Matthew 13

24 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:
25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.
26 But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.
27 So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?
28 He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?
29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.
30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

LOL yes. I guess it is, in today's climate.

I'm a clueless white guy who's lived a life full of privilege. I mean, I had 2 parents. I had good schools (public). And, every promotion or sale I've ever made has been strictly the result of my whiteness. Well, "brownness". I have a lot of Hispanic blood mixed in. I tan easily.

But, I'm also very practical. Where to we start the burning? How about in our school systems? All those who have less than 50% reading above grade level....light em up!
