It’s never the wrong time or place to honor the Flag.
Rats. The 18-hour jello heroes are the worst.
Here’s his handlers’ statement:
I would like to apologize to my friends, teammates, the City of New Orleans, the black community, NFL community and anyone I hurt with my comments yesterday. In speaking with some of you, it breaks my heart to know the pain I have caused.
In an attempt to talk about respect, unity, and solidarity centered around the American flag and the national anthem, I made comments that were insensitive and completely missed the mark on the issues we are facing right now as a country. They lacked awareness and any type of compassion or empathy. Instead, those words have become divisive and hurtful and have misled people into believing that somehow I am an enemy. This could not be further from the truth, and is not an accurate reflection of my heart or my character.
This is where I stand:
I stand with the black community in the fight against systemic racial injustice and police brutality and support the creation of real policy change that will make a difference.
I condemn the years of oppression that have taken place throughout our black communities and still exists today.
I acknowledge that we as Americans, including myself, have not done enough to fight for that equality or to truly understand the struggles and plight of the black community.
I recognize that I am part of the solution and can be a leader for the black community in this movement.
I will never know what its like to be a black man or raise black children in America but I will work every day to put myself in those shoes and fight for what is right.
I have ALWAYS been an ally, never an enemy.
I am sick about the way my comments were perceived yesterday, but I take full responsibility and accountability. I recognize that I should do less talking and more listening...and when the black community is talking about their pain, we all need to listen.
For that, I am very sorry and I ask your forgiveness.

Maybe Brees oughta keep a Glock in his pads when he’s playing ball.
Didn’t even read but let me guess this article quoted twitter right?
Brees receiver, Michael Thomas claimed it was never about RespecC Da flaGG (Ebonics spelling all his) when he was scolding Brees because actually had the balls to exercise his 1st Amendment right.
BULL. SHIT.
I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color,
- Krapernick
He’s all ready walked them back...
They are demanding that patriotic americans - police, sports personalities kneel and not respect our flag. That means they are demanding that we equate America with police brutality. Sick, poorly trained, many times poorly educated malignant jerks who become policemen are the problem and its a very small one.
They want us to disrespect then hate the USA. Why does everyone in the world want to move here if we’re such a hateful place. Does anyone ever look into how Chinese law enforcement treats minorities or foreigners? Turkey? Saudi Arabia? Mexico? Egypt? C’mon noone is rioting in London and Paris over those. It’s a Soros sponsored Hail Mary (Hail Satan) by communists who failes to stop Trump.
No, Brees was being interviewed.................
That was almost as pathetic as Ace McCain’s fawning “concession” speech in 2008.
No walking was involved.
That a grovelling apology.
I wouldn’t worry about the NFL season, between Covid19 and the protest thing....I don’t see games being played this year. Likely the same scenario for baseball (if the players don’t come to the table and work out the 82-game deal).
I would start looking at the election and the possibility that in various polling stations....things won’t work because of thug activity, and hundreds of thousands are denied the right to vote.
He didn’t graduate from THE Ohio State University though he did attend there (unless he’s graduated since leaving school early for the NFL draft).
Saints should of never resigned Malcolm Jenkins.
Here’s a reply he received at his twitfeed:
Drew, my 4 month old son looks up to you. When I had to explain to him what you said, he broke down into tears and said, how can Drew Brees be 41 years old and still not understand how awful system racism is in this country?
I had no answer. Do better.
If you divert from the approved message by one iota, you are beaten until you cone back in line.
Another guy who would have done better to say nothing. Now he will be despised by both sides.
Well, there goes his front line / pass cover/protection.
Look for a lot of blitzes against him this season...............if there is one................
THE xhix state uni is just as bad
When they are whipping me, am I supposed to say my name is Toby or is it my birth name.
I keep forgetting.
