The death of George Floyd after an interaction with the Minneapolis Police Department has rocked the world and while everyone reading this believes that an officer that put his knee in the back of Floyds neck for close to nine minutes was the cause of death, the facts and evidence are anything but that.
The Western Journal of Emergency Medicine says that Excited delirium is characterized by agitation, aggression, acute distress and sudden death, often in the pre-hospital care setting. It is typically associated with the use of drugs Subjects typically die from a heart attack and the majority of the patients die before hospital arrival.
And combined with methamphetamine, studies indicate that fentanyl has a higher chance of inducing fatal hyperthermia. And it just so happens that hyperthermia has a direct correlation with excited delirium.
Fentanyl is also unique among the opioids in its ability to cause muscle rigidity of the chest wall, diaphragm, and larynx. Known as wooden chest syndrome, its safe to say that the combination of this drug is a recipe for heart stoppage.
The American College of Emergency Physicians White Paper Report on Excited Delirium Syndrome recommends two specific responses by law enforcement if they observe signs of excited delirium.
Stating that Deescalation does not have a high likelihood of changing outcomes significantly
The subjects require physical restraint (this is because if they continue to struggle it accelerates the death) combined with emergent sedation.
Once the decision to do this has been made, action needs to be swift and efficient, and performed with all responders present when feasible.

The “epiphany” routine he pulled during the Phil Spector trial is also enlightening.
Then watch what Apple does to it when it goes on line as it sends your exact location and your picture back to the mother ship.
At that point, your best bet is to use it as a brick to break into another store.
They were initially offered to the mayor, and he said he didn’t want to look at them.
Well said!
Well said.

Great minds think alike!
you have to wonder why all three cops were on top of Floyd...holding him down...I figured there had to be a reason....
holding him down on his stomach might have been the only choice ...and lying prone might have prevented aspiration....
its not a clear cut story....
but we had all these freepers ready to hang the cops....
With competent defense counsel, I wouldn't be so sure that this is a slam dunk for the prosecution.
You can trot out any supporting BS that you can find but it doesn’t change the fact that Chauvin had his knee on Floyd’s neck for 7 minutes and that for the last 2 minutes Floyd was unconscious. Got that!
Now those facts are supported by video. The fact Floyd had a record as long as my arm does not obviate the the police have a duty of care to those in their custody.
Too many police forces tolerate thuggism in this day and age. The bullies are not screened out.
I detest the left, antifa, the rioting, and all the filthy propaganda that the left is generating. One fact is true - if you want to lose this country continue to condone brutish and unlawful behaviour by our criminal justice system. While General Flynn and George Floyd may not have a lot in common as far as their lifestyles are concerned, they are both victims of our criminal justice system.
The body cams will be crucial for the trial. The DA has scene them and warns that there is more evidence coming.
Yes lock and load if the police get off and that will happen just in time for Nov election.
Upgrading charges to 2nd degree increase burden of proof making an acquittal or hung jury more likely.
Mayhem will result in a fubar election, theft and overthrow of America
And if that fact didn’t cause to his death it is meaningless got that.
If you want to lose this country continue to give criminals free rain and those that support them.
Continue to not hold people responsible for their own actions.
The facts are if MR. Floyd had not used those drugs, had not committed a crime, had not resisted the police.
None of this would have happened.
Mr. Floyd because of his actions should be held responsible for his own death.
Like with Micheal brown the truth weeks and months later will be on page 6 and no longer important because it is the truth and it is a non story that doesn’t fit their narrative
Thank you for being the only other person, besides myself, for mentioning positional restraint asphyxiation.
This was being added to my departments training curriculum back in 2010 to respond to a large number of deaths from handcuffed prone suspects.
And as more and more information about this case gets out the more it looks like that's going to be the case IMO. Indeed lock and load.
I too agree and that will all come out at a/the trial. IMO the prosecution is going to have a mountain of evidence to get over.
As for the "independent" autopsy...if you're in the "rent an expert" business you know that Rule #1 is "always aim to please the ones paying your bill".To do otherwise is to set yourself up for having an office where the phone never seems to ring.
And as for experts...think back to OJ.That criminal evidence expert,Henry Lee,said that there's no way that OJ did it.He,too, understood exactly who he was working for.
Agreed, well said.
