A black man says he asked a white woman in Central Park to put her dog on a leash.
Then, video shows her calling police and telling emergency operators that the man was threatening her and her dog. The woman, who has been identified as Amy Cooper, has apologized. But by Tuesday afternoon she was fired from her job at an investment management firm.
"Following our internal review of the incident in Central Park yesterday, we have made the decision to terminate the employee involved, effective immediately. We do not tolerate racism of any kind at Franklin Templeton," the company said in a statement posted to Twitter.
I would bet she is a liberal democrat. If so, I think it’s poetic justice.
Racist witch got what she deserved.
Your post changes everything. He was trying to kidnap her dog. I hope she sues him.
That’s not a threat.
She’s breaking the law.
there’s NO LAW against offering a dog a treat, even if this stupid beyotch doesn’t care for him doing it.
She’s racist AF, lied to police on the phone and abused her dog, lowlife POS is what she is.
I love dogs, but I’ve got a lot of friends who birdwatch too.
And my dog is ALWAYS on a leash when required, and 100 percent under voice control at all times.
Imagine if everybody who acted like a fool away from work got fired.
“Karens” wouldn’t be the majority.
Being straddled by Lorraine Bracco does sound interesting, but her husband doesn't look too thrilled. :)
“He was trying to kidnap her dog.”
No he wasn’t. He knows from past experience that dog owners don’t like strangers giving treats to their dogs and it seems they react by putting the dog on the leash. Smart guy.
Franklin Templeton is a ‘rat infested company

The woman called the police and said, "I am being threatened by a man in the Bramble. Please send the cops immediately."
It's Clintonesque to twist that into, "Well, the guy did have a camera and he did have a dog treat and if she did have some neurosis of one kind or another she could really believe that a statement that anyone with an IQ of room temperature takes to mean that the woman's person is in danger of a man's physical attack really meant something else to her.
How exactly did he threaten her life?
If you read through the whole thread you’ll see that the man was threatening her.
The dog couldn’t be lured if it was leashed, as it should have been.
He threaten to give her dog a treat.
She actually called 911 and said he was threatening her, which was a lie.
I didn’t know there were blackbird watchers?
In most states they are a common nuisance and shot as pests.
Giving a dog a treat is a threat?
He states in the story he carries them for off leash animals.
I carry dog treats in my car because I sometimes run into very rude dogs. The treats break the ice.
Never got bit by a big dog but my pants legs have gotten a good workout from a number of the little kick dogs - Mommy “Oh, look. Sampson is trying to act like a big dog, Isn’t he so cute.”
And imagine if the genuinely racist jerks like her got fired, it wouldn’t be such a common and handy cudgel. The reason it’s sometimes effective even when untrue is because of genuinely racist jerks like her.
Yes, everyone is overeacting. See 27, 58, 69, 74, 86 for what transpired prior to the video, per the birdwatcher. IMO, prior to the beginning of the video her dog was threatened.
“She was being a lawbreaking idiot. And a liar.
Theres not a damned thing wrong with asking somebody to obey a well established law; her little entitled lying self got what it deserved.”
I think both of them were wrong and both were extremely petty but I don’t think it’s worth losing a job over.
BREAKING THE LAW! Really. Thats like throwing the book at someone for doing 36 in a 35 zone. Lighten up Francis.
Here in AZ dogs off of their leash can get mauled by javelinas. It happened to me last week. I was in an area of a phoenix municipal park where people typically let their dogs loose to run on the grass. The moment I let the dog loose on the mowed field it tore off into the desert brush after some javelinas about 75 feet away out in the desert past some scrub mesquite and got tore up. $600 dang dollars for the vet to stitch her up. If that dog was not my kids pet it would have gotten home care from me using leftover prescription antibiotics and superglue for stitches.
Here is what the bite looks like on these things:
+1
I was appalled at the ease with which the lies just rolled off her tongue. That is the real problem with her job and why I think the employer wins any lawsuit.
Her arrogant, entitled ways have just very negatively influenced her future.

If she had been smart enough to apologize and immediately put the dog on the leash, all would be well and she would still have her fancy job.
