Twitter is seeking to expand its product features and policies after President Trump repeatedly pushed a conspiracy theory regarding the death of an intern who worked in former Rep. Joe Scarborough's congressional office.
The social media platform apologized on Tuesday morning for the president's insinuation that Scarborough, now a television host on MSNBC, may have been responsible for Lori Klausutiss 2001 death via Twitter, which has prompted calls for the company to remove the tweets.
We are deeply sorry about the pain these statements, and the attention they are drawing, are causing the family," a Twitter spokesperson told the Washington Examiner. "We've been working to expand existing product features and policies so we can more effectively address things like this going forward, and we hope to have those changes in place shortly."

Censor the Tweets of the President of the United States? I don't think so.
So an intern was not found dead in his office?
LOL. So censorship is now a "feature"?
Sounds like the family of this poor girl are no more interested in solving this situation than Seth Rich’s family. Sad.
In Scarbough’s yes. If a dead girl had been found in PDJT’s office you can bet A dumb Sh*t somewhere would e calling for impeachment.
If Trump were to say the sky is blue, the media would indicate that this statement had been made “without evidence”.
So, it’s pretty important NOT to reopen any investigation because — GASP! — evidence might be found. And that might make the President correct. As usual.
“How about reopening the investigation”
Inquiring minds want to know.
On what grounds? The police, the coroner, the local prosecutors all closed it as an accident. Maybe Trump could have Barr open a federal investigation but the local authorities aren't going to. Not without new evidence.
And even decades later, there is still speculation and unanswered questions about Chappaquiddick. So are the powers that be with social media going to censor any discussion about Chappaquiddick, or the Kennedy assassination or any other topic of Interest?
Yes. And the death was ruled due to natural causes. Trump can question it but I don't think anything will happen without new evidence.
Or Mary Jo Kopeckne’s.
Maybe the family of that girl got paid off. We’ve never heard from the family of Mary Jo Kopechne. Reports were that the Kennedy family paid them off to stay silent.
As a private feature Twitter can censor whoever they want. But censor the President? I think that would take bigger cojones than the Twitter management has.
Her husband asked Twitter to remove Trumps tweet.
Listen buddy, interns die OK? Sometimes they die in people's offices, OK? Is that so hard to understand? Just because an intern dies in someone's office, and that someone is a prominent member of the left-wing media, doesn't mean there's anything to the story, OK? Same as that Vince Foster guy. So he shot himself in his office, so what? Or maybe he didn't shoot himself in his office, but whatever. It happens. People die. I'm sure if a 28-year-old female intern suddenly had a heart attack and dropped dead just outside the Oval Office, no one in the MSM would say boo, just another day in the white house, no big deal, right? OK? So why can't you let it go already, like Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski have. Let it go, I mean. Joe and Mika have let it go. There.
Twitter, FB, YouTube, and Reddit, are now the arbiters of WRONGTHOUGHT.
