Memorial Day Weekend Corona Virus Thread
HELP WANTED - Alcapulco
Legendary Mexican beach resort Acapulco upended by coronavirus
Public hospital beds equipped to care for critically ill COVID-19 patients are nearly full, according to local authorities. They said only seven were available on Wednesday in the city of nearly one million people.
About 30 more beds are being equipped
“...Many COVID-19 patients have had to wait up to five hours to be admitted to hospital, according to a Red Cross paramedic who spoke on condition of anonymity.
“Some are dying in our ambulances” before entering the hospital, the paramedic said.
“Acapulco’s health system has collapsed.”
NATURAL DISASTER
Paradise Falls in Wildwood Park in Thousand Oaks to close indefinitely due to crowds, trash
“...The Conejo Valley Open Space Conservation Agency announced the closure Wednesday after a weekend that had rangers trying to keep up with collecting trash left behind by visitors. Multiple truckloads of it were removed, according to COSCA.
“While trash cans are available, many simply left it for COSCA staff to clean up and trash accumulated faster than it could be removed. Then there were problems with human waste and sanitation as many used areas along the creek both upstream and downstream as a toilet...”
thanks a freaking lot, tourists. Carry your nasty selves back to your own county

URUGUAY
In Brazil’s shadow, laid-back Uruguay curbs COVID-19
...The South American nation of 3.5 million people, known for its beef, laid-back lifestyle and legalized cannabis, has recorded 789 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus and 22 deaths. Thats around 23 cases per 100,000 people - versus nearly 200 cases per 100,000 in Brazil.
...Uruguays population responded well and abided by government regulations, making it possible to control the pandemic effectively, she said....”Only a handful of the countrys approximately 650 intensive care unit beds available for COVID-19 patients are currently occupied..”
HELP WANTED - CHILE
“The count of new cases in Chile has quadrupled since early May to about 4,000 daily, with total cases topping 80,000 on Wednesday. Critical care wards in Santiago now report 97% occupancy levels...”
“Chiles government in March took control of the countrys private healthcare network... using the military to transfer patients.
We have not yet reached the debate about (who receives) the last bed, Manalich said.

WHO expects hydroxychloroquine safety findings by mid-June
ZURICH (Reuters) - The World Health Organization (WHO) on Tuesday promised a swift review of data on hydroxychloroquine, probably by mid-June, after safety concerns prompted the group to suspend the malaria drugs use in a large trial on COVID-19 patients.
“...Those already in a 17-country study, called Solidarity, of thousands of patients who have started hydroxychloroquine can finish their treatment, the WHO said.
Newly enrolled patients will get other treatments being evaluated, including Gilead Sciences remdesivir and AbbVies Kaletra/Aluvia.
Separate hydroxychloroquine trials, including a 440-patient U.S. study by Swiss drugmaker Novartis, are continuing enrollment...

CAUSING A STINK Wuhan-style wet market in NEW YORK leaves dumpster full of rotting chicken guts to drip blood in open sewer
There are 71 wet markets in New York City - all of which are regulated by the state’s Department of Agriculture and Markets....
“...In the New York, wet markets tend to sell and slaughter animals such as chickens, goats and sheep, reports Pix11.
But in light of Covid-19, which has killed more than 350,000 worldwide including over 98,000 in the US, NYC lawmakers have introduced a bill attempting to have the city’s wet markets closed for good...

IMMUNITY
EVERY recovered COVID-19 patient develops ‘neutralizing’ antibodies to the virus - but they may not be enough to block reinfection, small study suggests
Researchers looked at 149 recovered coronavirus who donated plasma, which is supposed to contain virus-fighting antibodies
About 79% had low levels of antibodies in their blood but 1% of ‘elite donors’ had very high levels
The team concluded that every patient’s immune system is capable of producing the types of antibodies that neutralize the virus, just not enough of them

First results from human COVID-19 immunology study reveal universally effective antibodies

Dr. Roger Sehuelt:
Coronavirus Pandemic Update 75: COVID-19 Lung Autopsies - New Data
A new article from the New England Journal of Medicine details observations of endothelial damage and thrombosis in lung autopsies of patients who had COVID-19. This report supports the hypothesis that Dr. Seheult has illustrated over the past few weeks.
Dr. Seheult also discusses the re-opening of the largest county in California and reviews a recent article published in Nature about how T-cells found in COVID-19 patients is a favorable sign for long-term immunity. (This video was recorded on May 25, 2020)

Interesting question. One could extrapolate to other hemoglobinopathies such as G6PD deficiency (which interestingly is more common in black pts.) Oxidative stress worsens this condition. It can be treated with drugs like HCQ, quinine, ASA, NSAIDS, quinolones, nitrofuraontoin. But these pts get anemia, hemolysis, jaundice etc. Ive not seen that with COVID-19. Methemoglobinemia is another disorder associated with oxidized iron in the ferric F3+ form instead of the ferrous F2+. O2 is dissociated leading to deadly consequences. It is diagnosed by PO2/pulse oximetry discordance, and dark brown colored blood - both not seen in COVID-19 pts. It is treated with iron reducing agents like methylene blue.
Sickle cell trait (heterozygous SA) is seen in 1/10 black pts. Fascinating to me. Could very well be playing a role. These pts dont do well with lung injury. Not to mention sickle cell disease (homozygous SS) (1/365 blacks). But once again hemolysis is profound in these pts and I havent seen much in the COVID-19 ARDS patients.
Then theres thallasemias - too much to get into!! Need a hematologist to chime in.
Blood transfusion can be used for methemoglobinemia and sickle cell disease.
One last forest/trees comment re this. These severe pts have profound hypoxia (PO2) in dissolved blood. Hemoglobin damage itself isnt going to effect PO2 levels.

Have found an item very strange that may mean something to someone with enough knowledge, found on the weird side of Youtube.
Videos on Tom Hanks and wife Rita Wilson having CV19 - Maybe.
Links to claims regarding Adrenochrome(sp) use and addiction by celebrities and high Fe as a result, making CV-19 more deadly to them as HCQ use will not them work . . . possibly.
A written claim regarding the above from 0:09-0:39 in video listed below, entitled “Panic in Hollywood”, Youtube channel “Alice Down The Rabbit Hole”. Contains a reference to a MedicalNewsToday article on wormwood as an aid to cancer treatment.

“Adrenochrome heavy use captures iron content in the body . . .”
Any thoughts or considered opinions on this item appreciated. Thank you.

TOPLINE In updated guidance posted on its website over the weekend, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention acknowledged an inability to accurately determine if individuals had been infected with Covid-19 via antibody tests; if the test is used in a population where prevalence is low, it’s possible that “less than half of those testing positive will truly have antibodies.”

China know exactly what this virus does.
You’d think, if this was ‘just the flu’ and ‘only kills old people with health problems’, China would be putting this in the water supply and going balls to the wall for herd immunity.
They’re not though.
China closed down and entire hospital complex because one nurse tested positive.
China knows the REAL purpose of this virus wasn’t to kill.
And China is making sure their population does NOT catch this virus.
What are OUR leaders hiding from us about the long term effects of this virus.
And why.
Because those hedge fund managers agitating to ‘open it back up’ won’t be paying for or suffering from any of these long term effects. They’re either on HCQ or other prophylactics. it’s the REST of us that will be experiencing these side effects.
I told you a month ago that the antibody studies were a complete dumpster fire.

While the rest of the world is being advised not to. Why? Thats a question worth asking. Isnt it? Bukele wrote.

I was just coming here to see if that one had been posted yet.
It’s not a ‘respiratory virus’, it’s a ‘circulatory virus’.
