India has voiced a rare note of criticism of Chinas assertive actions in the South China Sea, amid a tensions between the two Asian powers on their long land border.
A New Delhi-based analyst said India is concerned over China pressuring South China Sea claimant nations that India considers partners. India is also wary that China could seek to assert itself in the Indian Ocean.
On Thursday, Indias Ministry of External Affairs commented on the recent incidents along the Line of Actual Control the nearly 2,200 mile unsettled border between China and India. Chinese and Indian troops clashed on May 5 over road construction the Indian side was completing at Pangong Tso, a glacial lake bordering Ladakh and Tibet. They clashed again May 9 near Doklam, which borders India China, and Bhutan. Soldiers were reportedly wounded on both sides in the clashes.
At the same news conference, ministry spokesman Anurag Srivastave was also asked about recent unilateral actions by China in the South China Sea: the establishment of two new administrative districts for the disputed Paracel and Spratly Islands and the naming 80 obscure geographical features over the objections of other claimants.
(The) South China Sea is a part of (the) global commons and India has an abiding interest in peace and stability in the region, Srivastave said. We firmly stand with the freedom of navigation and overflight and unimpeded lawful commerce in these international waterways, in accordance with international law.
While the statement seemed bland enough, and was consistent with Indias long-standing position on the maritime disputes in Southeast Asia, Abhijit Singh, senior fellow at the New Delhi-based Observer Research Foundation, said it was unusual for a government spokesman to make a public statement on the issue in this way.

Two 3rd world cesspool countries squaring off to kill each other off.
Good for India. Gird for war.
Well neither remotely match the US and Canada so long as you don’t compare our illegal communities and cesspool cities.
Sure, let’s help out by deporting all Chinese and Indian citizens back to their respective countries. All of them.
The Indian folks may be taking our jobs, but I don’t see them
as stealing every state secret they can get their grubby
fingers on.
I’m inclined to agree though. It angers me to see our folks
who are capable ignored while they bring in cheap labor.
To me, that’s about as unAmerican as it gets.
The American People had better wake up--and FAST! And give their full support to President Trump!
Well, other than 'that' Mrs Lincoln, how was the play?
San Francisco may be the most glaring example, but the decadence of Western Civilisation has infected all parts of America, and this is not lost on the Chinese, who understand well the cycles of ascendancy, decadence, ascendancy, decadence.
The American Left, the Democrat Party, anti-Trump establishment Republicans, et al. are riding the wave of decadence for their own self-serving purposes--America and the American People be damned! Some of their supporters are as cynical or evil as they are. Some hate the USA and want to destroy it. Some are well meaning but easily manipulated or downright stupid. Some simply aren't paying attention.
The disgusting observations you make of San Francisco are glaring examples of it.
Illegal drugs are available in every American city and town, in the schools, in grammar schools. They pour across the borders. The American People seem helpless to stop it. Democrat Politicians effectively champion it, cynically protecting the flow of illegal drugs and illegal immigrants into the USA.
This is what the Trump Revolution is all about: President Trump and his supporters are convinced that America has not yet passed the point of no return, that the decadence in America can be stopped and reversed.
President Trump was so convinced of it that he was willing to risk everything--a considerable amount in his case--to save his beloved USA from the destruction of decadence and the cynical, evil, self-serving Americans who champion it and the clueless Americans who support them and keep such politicians in office.
The deep division in American society is the division between the decadence of Western Civilisation and those who oppose it. It's that simple. It renders America and the American People dangerously vulnerable to exploitation by enemies both domestic and foreign.
The American People had better wake up--AND FAST!
Well, perhaps we just don’t know what India actually has stolen
Dell set up a concierge service to help with computer problems. In my experience it was worthless and my money badly spent. However, after it was cancelled, the Indians still had the names and email and phone numbers of the former Dell customers. They caused all sorts of problems as they ran scams with the contact data that came originally from Dell.
They got really angry when I accused them of being Pakistani trash.
