SALEM, Ore. - Republican voters in Oregon’s vast 2nd Congressional District on Tuesday elected a former state senator to be their candidate to replace Rep. Greg Walden, who didn’t run for a 12th term in the conservative region covering the rural eastern and central part of the state.

The mail-in primary was complicated by the coronavirus pandemic, as election workers kept social distancing in county offices while staffing levels were down. Election workers received instructions on handling ballots along with protective equipment from the Oregon National Guard and others.

Former Vice President Joe Biden won Oregon’s Democratic presidential primary, outpacing Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders and Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, who both suspended their campaigns earlier in the year.

President Donald Trump, who was unopposed, won the Oregon GOP presidential contest.

In the Republican Senate primary, Jo Rae Perkins won. Perkins will face Democratic incumbent Sen. Jeff Merkley.

Wow. Bernie has officially dropped out and he still gets 19% of the primary vote. Says something about Biden’s weakness as a candidate.

It says a lot more about Oregon than it does about Joe’s fitness for the job

Roughly 1/3 vote for people not running. I wonder what that will mean for Rat turnout in Oregon come November?

Joe Biden did not do good in Oregon. Jeff Merkley, the current Democrat Senator who is running for that seat again outpaced Biden in vote in a massive shameful manner. Biden is a extremely weak candidate!!! Biden gets weaker with every passing primary election!!! Trump will slaughter him come November 3rd, 20209!!!

Look...it is as simple as the nose on your face....the Magic Negro, Obama has no magic anymore, Biden belongs in an old age home for the unbalanced and, Stacey Abrams needs to go on an immediate diet...period!!!

There was very low republican turnout, because they’d been auto-switched (by DMV, apparently) to nonpartisan - in a closed primary - and sent ballots with only judges and 3 measures. So, voter fraud:

It is a stoner state. In fact, marijuana sales have hit records during the shutdown.

By the numbers,
Biden votes = 354,108
Trump votes = 303,504

Thank goodness I got a ballot with Republicans on it. But I didn’t vote for any of the phony Supreme Court that put a stay to the judge who said churches should be open.
