Dr. Anthony Fauci revealed Tuesday morning that a return to school in fall "would be a bit of a bridge too far," in a Senate Committee hearing. News of likely continued homeschooling of the nation's children will likely be greeted with groans and frustration by harried parents struggling with the balance of working at home and also managing either remote learning or just having children home 100% of the time.

The question was asked by Senator Lamar Alexander, the Republican Senator from Tennessee who serves as Chair for the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor & Pensions, and is leading a hearing on the coronavirus outbreak and the administration's response.

I saw a stat the other day that half the counties in the country have not had ONE CV death, and about two-thirds (or was it three-fourths?) have had fewer than five. A nation-wide school lockdown would be madness.

Every year we have 20,000-60,000 flu deaths and we don't shut down the country, and no one says that the people who would oppose shutting down the country would "have blood on their hands."
