A few weeks before the 2016 election, Brett Kavanaugh, then a judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, drew a lot of attention with a ruling concluding that the structure of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, conceived in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis, was unconstitutional. The agency, in the judges view, was simply too powerful, and Congress erred when making its director independent of, and unaccountable to, the president of the United States. That design, as conceived by lawmakers, served the purpose of insulating the CFPB from undue political influence say, from a mercurial president who wanted to dictate policy that benefits businesses rather than consumers, or from someone who merely cared more about his own partisan interests.
That didnt matter to Kavanaugh. As an independent agency with just a single Director, Kavanaugh wrote in October 2016, the CFPB represents a sharp break from historical practice, lacks the critical internal check on arbitrary decisionmaking, and poses a far greater threat to individual liberty than does a multi-member independent agency. To his credit, he didnt go all the way and vote to strike down the entire agency, or the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, which created it. He limited his ruling to placing the bureaus director within presidential control. As before, the CFPB will continue to operate and perform its many critical responsibilities, albeit under the ultimate supervision and direction of the President, Kavanaugh wrote.

The author actually used the word beloved.
A bureaucrat is "beloved" and should not be removed by the people through their representative in the executive.
But of course we know a Democrat would be ENCOURAGED to fire ANYBODY who dared stand in their way.
If Biden should be elected, or some other Democrat in 2024, ALL of Trump's appointees will be fired (which is proper), because none of them are "beloved".
Obama could do this and was applauded trump cant
I have been fired by Democrats. That bunch always does that. Never have known one who didn't. In case anyone ever wonders why some of my posts are so harsh, it is specifically for that reason. I have never known a worse bunch of destructive people.
Blinded to their own bias. Because they choose to be blinded.
Farias education is sorely lacking. She clearly doesn’t understand the Constitution of the United States. The constitution designates but three governmental institutions - the Executive, the Judiciary, and the Congress. No where in the constitution is there a place for “independent, unaccountable’ regulatory agencies. The President can, indeed, fire anyone in the executive branch he so chooses.
Only in the mire and slime of the Swamp is this bad.
It’s the slave mentality, they are more like drones, free thinking is an aberration to them. They feel if they hive think, they are not personally responsible for their own actions.
God feels otherwise. I suspect choosing to become a drone is not lauded as a wise choice along with the rest of their actions.
I raised my children to make their own minds up with the information available to them - my mistake was the youthful penchant for dismissing parental advice and using their vast knowledge of of worldly doings to decide to be democrats. Truthfully, my eldest seems to have turned the corner, just waiting with hope and prayer that the other two see the light. One thing that I have learned to be in common with the majority of Lifer Democrats and people who are good at management is, at least somewhat, they both are sociopaths. No conscience, no problem! when it comes to both fields.
Too bad I never got into HR of a big company. The interview process would be much different than 30y ago.
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "undue political influence" LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wouldn’t lose sleep if he did.
Blinded to their own bias. Because they choose to be blinded.
He should have. Just as a general rule, any law named after Dodd and Frank is de facto a piece of garbage. Secondly, the CFPB is blatantly unconstitutional.
You know what, you're right about that.
Oh, I like that one. Going to permanent memory.
That’s what I told my wife yesterday. :)
When you try to convince someone they are being fooled, you are attacking their eqo. That’s why it’s so hard.
WHAT ABOUT insulating the CFPB from undue political influence say, from a CFPB director who wanted to dictate policy that benefits the insane left wing agenda to destroy the US?
