Second Video in Ahmaud Arbery Released
Twitter ^ | May 9, 2020 | None

Posted on 05/09/2020 4:59:46 PM PDT by bort

This video was posted on the twitter account of Ahmaud Arbery's attorney, Lee Merritt. It shows Arbery stopping in front of the home. He then looks around and walks into the home, which is under construction. He walks out of the home and into the garage. He is in the house for at least 60 to 90 seconds. He then BOLTS out the front entrance of the house like Jesse Owens.

The three perps were in the creek. My girls surrounded them and made an escape nearly impossible. My son stood guard on the house and neighbors formed a line to protect any escape.

Once everything was secure, my son came to me and he called out to the perps. He knew them and called them out. At that time the police arrived and we took inventory of our house and property.

At every entrance to our house, we have a minimum of three defensive weapons and several outside. It would be difficult for someone to escape our house without an injury.

I’m just wondering what our society would be like if everyone thought it was a good idea to do armed ‘citizen arrest’ of whomever they suspected of a crime.

It would be a lot more peaceful and a damned sight less crime.

This is PROBABLE CAUSE under any definition. And, btw, Arbery charged at younger McMichael and tried to grab his shotgun. Not guilty

I was in downtown Atlanta the day the police officers were intially foung "not guilty" in the Rodney King case. You do not want to be in downtown Atlanta if/when these guys are found not guilty.

The perps. My dogs are too smart to fall for that. They have well-trained humans to feed them bones and treats throughout the day, plus they are very hyperactive. They are family and you do not mess with family.

All I had to do was was two commands and the perps would have been toast.

They only thing that I cannot fix is that one of my girls ALWAYS walks up the stairs backward. She just does not trust anyone walking behind her EVER.

LOL!

WHO was pinned in freezing water - your dogs, or the perps?

His claim of defense against the McMichaels would not be valid if he was a fleeing criminal and they knew this. Which means he could not use force legally against them. Which means his attempting to disarm McMichael is a lethal threat.

I don’t know why Lee posted this video as it hurts his position.

Oh, bullshit. If some local Cletus rolls up on me and tries to take me down for something he "suspects" I'm doing, he's going to get the snot beat of him...or worse.

My dogs would have got them and I had them pinned up so that they were sitting in freezing cold water and had no change to escape.

Hooked on Phonics did not work for me. :(

I kept the dogs away from them and left the perps freezing their no nuts off in cold water. My girls are family and we take care of the family. It was fun waiting until the cops came.

“Yes. Next, did they have a right to impede him, detain him, ask him to stop, and even arrest him?”

Actually, no.

“O.C.G.A. 17-4-60 (2010)
17-4-60. Grounds for arrest

A private person may arrest an offender if the offense is committed in his presence or within his immediate knowledge. If the offense is a felony and the offender is escaping or attempting to escape, a private person may arrest him upon reasonable and probable grounds of suspicion.”

Arbery didn’t commit a felony and neither father or son had seen him do so nor did either have immediate knowledge that Arbery had committed a felony. At worst, Arbery committed a misdemeanor. In Georgia, burglary
is a felony while trespass is a misdemeanor.

I had a cat who would run away from feet walking toward it.

This was an old, adopted rescue cat; a vet told me that the cat was missing teeth in front, and it looked like they had been knocked out.

We always thought the cat had been kicked in the face.

It took many years, but eventually Tillie got over that fear and no longer ran away when we walked toward him.

Well, would you risk what might become a lifetime in prison, for taking your gun after a common, opportunistic thief?

Bless our Karma’s heart... she is a rescue and will always watch her 6.

She is great with my chickens. My three girls are completely safe when she is on guard.

Wasn’t this house “a foundation under construction” in the “news” reports a day or so ago?

At 1:12 Arbery takes a swing at the man with the shotgun and just misses or hits his head. Assault or assult and battery preceded his being shot.

This was a pretty dumb thing to do. He should have said I will wait for the Police and we will sort this out.

Burglary does not require that something is stolen, only that there is an intent to steal. If Arbery entered that building with the intent to steal, that is burglary. And, as has been alleged, Arbery had been suspected of previous break-ins, perhaps were items were stolen.

If you practice proper gun safety you don’t confront anyone with a gun unless your life is threatened. And you don’t put that gun in your antagonists reach like a God damn idiot.

I used to work in areas of new construction. Theft always happened. It is obvious this guy was a thief and low life. It is obvious that jury and executioner was what the two other guys were based on what I see even if low life jogging man tried to take the weapon. Our system is weird. The two may get off or may go away for a very long time. I do know this will be the fire of the summer and election fall.

The trial won’t happen until at least next year. The smart thing to say during the campaign is that it’s now in the hands of the court.

There is no evidence that Arbery intended to steal anything from that house. Under Georgia law, in order to make a citizens arrest, one must have witnessed a felony to have occurred or have immediate knowledge that a felony occurred. Neither father or son observed Arbery commit a felony nor did they have first hand knowledge that he had. They are going to prison for a long time.

As for being suspected of previous break-ins:

“While Gregory McMichael claimed Arbery looked like a suspect in a string of recent burglaries, Glynn County Police Lt. Cheri Bashlor told CNN this week just one automobile burglary in the neighborhood was reported when a 9 mm pistol was stolen January 1 from an unlocked truck outside the McMichaels’ home.”

As a jogger I have often stopped at homes under construction to take a pee. That was in the old days before it was required to have a portable toilet outside. Now every house has a portable toilet even before construction starts. Could he have gone in to relieve himself? Don’t know if there’s a portable toilet at that location. Jogging has its own set of dangers that I was always aware that some folks might think I was up to no good for running down their street.

Anyone can ask someone to stop. It is not illegal to do so.
