It wouldn't surprise me if some of the same people who are afraid of going out to dine, are folks who experiment with drugs, or drink and drive. I've found that a lot of people who are extremely disciplined in one aspect of their lives, don't automatically carry that same strict discipline into other parts of their life. For example, I knew a guy who was manic about his physical appearance. He had disciplined himself to pump iron every day to keep his body in shape, but he drank non-stop the rest of the time, and was a functioning alcoholic. He was pumped on the outside, but he was destroying his liver, and other parts of his body on the inside.
7 in 10 voters are uncomfortable watching Joe Biden paw young girls sniffing their hair.
Thanks, I’m glad I wasn’t the only one experiencing those symptoms. I’m done with masks.
ROFL!!
Just as well the the Fearpers stay home so that businesses aren’t overwhelmed and so that if there is any uptick of spread it is more gradual.
Heck, they can go hibernate themselves until Kingdom come.
I just took a poll. 99% of respondents indicated that polls are misleading at best and most likely worthless.
I’m uncomfortable sitting in the parking lot waiting for someone to bring out my lukewarm food when I could be inside at a table with my husband. We order take out every few days to help our local restaurants survive, but I’d really rather go in person. If we catch the bug, we catch the bug. It’s time to live like human beings again.
Of course not. Be my guest. :)
Only time I've worn a mask is when grocery shopping because the store demands it (and mine has F.U. WUHAN written on it in bold sharpie) and, yes, same results.
So the most recent time during "seasoned citizen" hour if I was in an aisle with no one around it pulled it down.
Need it to get in, not necessarily to stay in.
F.U. Tom Wolf!
I’ll be 79 Saturday, “with underlying health issues too, but Ill be damned if thats going to stop me from going out to dinner with my . . .” ROMEO (Retired Old Men Eating Out) buddies on Thursdays!
We went to the Longhorn Steakhouse for lunch today, and it was DELICIOUS in three ways: food was outstanding! my buddies were glad to be out and about! AND, our waitress was delighted to see us again!
“The only thing we have to fear is fear itself” I am not a big FDR fan, but he got this one right.
“Never take counsel of your fears” Most famously, General George Patton. The expression actually predates the Civil War, and General T.J. “Stonewall” Jackson is credited with using it.
Thumbs up to you and your son! One day we’ll all meet and
have a drink together.
Indeed. I don't want to hang around with a bunch of Karens anyway. My local bar opened on Friday. I've been a couple of times already. Kinda nice.
No one’s forcing them to go anywhere. Stay home in your bubble wrap and leave the rest of us alone.
Some of them probably need to take precautions. Others have just been scared half to death. The bug is out there, but it's not the plague. It isn't going to vanish just because we hide under the sofa. It also won't kill everyone. We have treatments, and summer is nearly here to help us. I seem to spend part of most days reassuring people who are scared to stick their noses outside the door.
I'm in my seventh decade. Time is running out
I want QUALITY not quantity.
Only right wingers clamoring to go outside into the dangerous viral world. /s
I appreciate your sentiments about our esteemed governor. I think we’ll be released from his prison when hell freezes over. We get outside, take drives, walk trails, and do as much as possible as normally as possible. Food shopping at the pandemic groceries is creepy, with the alternating aisles and flight patterns around the checkout, but we go when we want fresh food. We haven’t stopped eating fresh berries out of season or running out for fresh milk and eggs.
My mother lived through wartime Europe, Nazi occupation, iron curtain . . . she's pretty resilient - and old. She has taken precautions, but she's not cowering in fear. She lets younger family do her shopping, but she escapes to take drives in the country when she feels like getting out. She has said for some time that it feels a lot like 1930's Europe these days. She knows how powerful the propaganda and pressure from the left can be. It worries her.
Are not we, the slaves truly blessed and privileged to have truly benevolent, kind and caring masters? One should never lose track through, and never forget that while they may intend to be benevolent, kind and caring masters, they do intend to be our masters.
