The DOJ decision would appear to put an end to that process.
Earlier Thursday, the top prosecutor on the case, Brandon Van Grack, abruptly withdrew from the case, without explanation, in a brief filing with the court.
Breadcrumbs were being dropped in the days preceding the decision that his case could be reconsidered. Documents unsealed a week ago by the Justice Department revealed agents discussed their motivations for interviewing him in the Russia probequestioning whether they wanted toget him to lie so he'd be fired or prosecuted, or get him to admit wrongdoing. Flynn allies howled over the revelations, arguing that he was essentially set up in a perjury trap. In that interview, Flynn did not admit wrongdoing and instead was accused of lying about his contacts with the then-Russian ambassador to which he pleaded guilty.
Then on Wednesday, the DOJ released a mostly unredacted version of former acting Attorney General Rod Rosensteins August 2017 scope memo, outlining the authority then-Special Counsel Robert Mueller had for his investigation. That document revealed for the first time that Muellers authority went significantly beyond what was previously known.
Rosensteins memo was known to have authorized Mueller to probe any links and/or coordination between the Russian government and individuals associated with the campaign of President Donald Trump, and any matters that arose or may arise directly from the investigation, and any other matters within the scope of [obstruction of justice laws].
But the new document made clear that Rosenstein authorized a deep-dive criminal probe into the Trump campaign that extended well beyond Russian interference efforts.
The memo revealed that Mueller was, among other things, looking into whether Flynn committed a crime or crimes by engaging in conversations with Russian government officials during the period of the Trump transition.

You are a man of honor.
“I dont think he was ever told what the exact lie was. Someone explain to me how someone could lie when they dont know what the supposed lie was?”
A lie is actually a knowing falsehood. Didn’t happen in Flynn’s case. Instead he misremembered what he said and the FBI had a transcript of what he did say. They deliberately framed him by misrepresenting his failure of memory as a lie.
I’m hearing his initial law firm was Eric Holder’s law firm .....which would explain a few things.
TRUMP TRAIN ping!
Graduate & Professional degree list ping!
TY Albion for the ping.
Good news indeed.
[ DOJ drops case against Michael Flynn, in wake of internal memo release ]
Lots of Democrat corruption in the Barack Obama administration. Most ever, it seems.
Thanks for the ping!
Oh Happy Day!
Yep saw it, thanks for the heads up though. 8>)
“There are still millions out there who are convinced he worked with Putin to defeat Hillary.
I wouldn’t care if he did. Satan’s Prom Queen had to be defeated at all and cost. Better living under the Chinese communist than her government. And no, I’m not exagerating
From the filing by DOJ Attorney Timothy Shea ( This is Great!)
So in the final analysis, irrespective of Mr. Flynns plea, prosecutors have a duty to do justice. Federal prosecutors possess immense power to strike at citizens, not with mere individual strength, but with all the force of government itself. For that reason, the citizens safety lies in the prosecutor who seeks truth and not victims, who serves the law and not factional purposes, and who approaches [the] task with humility. Id. Based on a careful assessment of the balance of proof, the equities, and the federal interest served by continued prosecution of false statements that were not material to any bona fide investigation, the Government has concluded that the evidence is insufficient to prove its case beyond a reasonable doubt. The Government therefore moves to dismiss the criminal information under Rule 48(a).
On National Prayer Day .... that’s exceedingly satisfying and appropriate, even if the timing wasn’t intentional.
You’re welcome! :-)
Every day is Prayer Day for me—and for at least many other Orthodox Christians!!!!
I’m yearning (and praying) for National Back to Holy Communion Day!!!!
“Flynn’s exoneration has been a main part of what Q has been laying out”
Well, I guess if you started paying attention recently maybe. Maybe that became the main part after all the other “main parts” he predicted failed over and over again for years. I guess if you throw enough s**t at a wall, eventually something might stick.
“Congratulations. You are on that side of history.”
Thanks for finally admitting that you are a delusional idiot misled by an amateur con man.
Comey is RIGHT! The country IS hungry for justice.
And I hope and pray it EATS YOU AND YOUR CROOKED CRONIES ALIVE and spits you all into HELL!
