The Ohio House passed amendments to limit Dr. Amy Acton's emergency powers as Health Director and it's unknown if the Senate will pass the House version. But, Governor Mike DeWine vowed to veto the bill if it came to his desk...
Saw that coming. I assume Governor Acton will veto it too.
No question about that, she has the power!!
DeWine confirms he’s a Bush League Republican for any that didn’t already know.
Does the legislature have the votes to override?
They do protect each other in their power grabs, don’t they?
Don’t know, because some RINO’s voted against the bill, go figure!
Dont think so. Based on the article, our GOP is less than enthusiastic about it anyway and the bill may die right there. They wont even put it in front of him to veto.
Pretty sure the U.S. Constitution already limits their ability to constrain our freedom.
A thought: maybe it’s time for free citizens to pick a day for all of us willing to do so to open, shop, throw off our shackles.
If the entire country does it all on the same day, they can’t arrest all of us.
I think any action that large would also scare off any bureaucrats thinking of retaliating by pulling licenses and permits.
Yes Larry Obhof is always ready to cover for his RINO contingent, he’s the favorite lap dog of DeWine and Kasich.
Yet another government “worker” tyrant.., The hobo needs to read the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Maybe he should move to China...the country he admires. What a bum.
It does. But my guess is SCOTUS wont bother to get around to that for a few years.
The Shop (sic) Heard Round the World...
I expect to see an increase of MDs in politics going forward.
I held my nose and voted for this RINO.
After Trump, I’m done. I’ll vote for someone that I’m interested in, or leave it blank.
If the dem wins, I can live with that just as well.
Gov. De Rino.
When this is over, we are going to have to make a serious correction on reigning in the Governor’s powers using the health care ‘experts’. They do not have the right to destroy our lives!
House of Representatives: Red represents Republicans (61), Blue Democrats (38)
Three-fifths of members in both chambers must vote to override a veto, which is 60 of the 99 members in the Ohio House of Representatives and 20 of the 33 members in the Ohio State Senate. Ohio is one of seven states that requires a three-fifths vote from both of its legislative chambers to override a veto.
So it appears they do, if all Republicans stick together that is.
All of these GOP Governors have to pay a price for this with the ending of their political career’s.
