Most of us have been in lockdown for about six weeks. The objective was to flatten the curve and reduce the total number of victims of COVID-19. Well, the curve has been flattened indeed, but how is it six-weeks later there are 25,375 new cases in a single day?
With all the laws and policies implemented to knock out this virus, I expected wed be on the last leg of the downward curve by now. But, instead of a peak and decline, weve had three peaks and shallow valleys between them.
If people are staying at home, practicing social distancing, wearing masks in public, washing their hands and sanitizing everything in sight, how is it that COVID-19 continues to be transmitted from person to person?
A couple possibilities that occurred to me are that: 1) People flouting the laws, or 2) The virus is phenomenally virulent beyond anything ever seen before ( bio-weapon).
I was fully on board with the lockdown orders when they were issued. It was what we needed to do to beat this. However, we are at the point that the cure is becoming worse than the disease. In addition to what this virus has done to people directly, what about the collateral damage, such as long-term damage to our economy? For instance, consider the first two trillion dollar bail-out. Who pays for it? If you are among the approximate one-hundred-million US tax payers, you do. The federal government just signed your name to a $20,000 loan. Dont think so? Do the math.
It would be particularly interesting to hear the stories of COVID-19 cases that youve heard of in the last couple weeks and theories of how they were exposed.
Should we just let this thing take an inevitable course, or should we double-down on lock-down?
“Note how BobL asks questions that have nothing to do with my answers?”
Still waiting for that link.
Bob L you are very brilliant.
That is a funny video, though.
I dont have that link and I never referenced having that information.
I said the US would have ZERO COVID deaths if we didnt test.
I also said Taiwan is 1/10 our population.
Read.
“I said the US would have ZERO COVID deaths if we didnt test.”
Then WTF is that supposed to mean - there would be no COVID if we ignored it? There wouldn’t have been 27,000 deaths in NYC, instead of the usual 6,000 if we ignored it.
I was trying to give you the benefit of the doubt.
All the world would know, without testing, is that a small blip of pneumonia cases went up. We would know it wasnt a flu.
No one would be dying from COVID on any stats, anywhere.
That would be much better for all FearBros.
I am a Christian who has no intention of tempting God. That vaccine has been around for a century, and if there is any vaccine that we have a good track record on its the tb vaccine. I am not an anti-vaxxer , having talked to plenty of old people (who remember polio and the like) as well as nurses and a couple of biologists. Vaccines, in fact, have been so successful that people like you have had it good for so long that you have had the luxury of attributing your good fortune to other things, if indeed you even realize how lucky you have been and that your experiences thus far are not the natural order of things.
It wasn’t that small in NYC, but yes, you can argue that point - which is that the response is disproportional to the effects of the virus.
But be forewarned, you won’t find too many government agreeing with you. Sweden is the closest, but even they are having second thoughts.
Exactly.
IMO, They've shot themselves in the foot and nullified any further body counts. How can anyone believe ANY of the figures now being reported when you have officials admitting things like a person testing positive at different times is counted as an additional infection each time- or, other fatalities being counted as a virus death.
Especially when the States are paid per victim reported.
If you’re Christian, examine how closely linked the abortion industry is to the vaccine industry.
Just make sure you’re not on the wrong side of the Whiskey Rebellion II.
“the masks people are wearing are just a feel good thing, like pacifiers “
They’re placebos. Like the buttons on street corners for the walk/don’t walk signs, which probably aren’t connected to anything.
“I want the infection rate to skyrocket”
I actually hope I get it in a small dose to bump up my immune system. There’s a chance I had it in Feb., anyhow.
Isn’t it funny how the pretensions postulating pinhead FearBros never come up with supporting evidence except baked mortality/infection rates and flawed projection propaganda models built with theoretical data meant only to hype predictions with the fear mongering words... “what if”, “could”, “maybe” and “possibly.”
This should help expose the sham virus panic peddlers:

“1. Theyre not wearing masks. Thats the number one way to to stop spreading the virus.”
Some (50% of “experts”) say wearing masks is A way (not THE the #1 way) to stop spreading the virus. The other 50% say masks are useless and/or even counterproductive. Anyone is free to believe which is true, but declaring positively that non-medical grade masks are effective is disingenuous.
“2. Theyre not social distancing. 3. Theyre not refraining from gathering in groups.”
If you aren’t exposed a little bit you might stave off WuFlu for a while, but it won’t protect people forever. It’s inevitable that people will come in contact with the cootie at some point in time. Why not just do it now and let your immune system get strong — get it over with sooner rather than later?
“So the numbers will just get bigger and bigger as the idiots infect themselves and others.”
GOOD!! The bigger the number of known infections, with the currently declining death rate, proves this hoaxdemic was/is not nearly as bad as some people hoped it would be.
The tb vaccine was created a hundred years ago, long before there even WAS an abortion industry.
We are in agreement that people should exercise good judgment and use common sense.
I have no problem in not getting physically close to people (I refuse the words s****l d********g). I was distancing myself before the pandemic, lol.
The virus doesnt scare me at all. In fact, I never think of it.
What terrifies me is the destruction of small businesses and the economy. I know that many of the uninformed will blame Trump. The thought of Biden, or his replacement, winning is too terrible to contemplate.
Have a great week.

That’s the point!
