Scientists in China appeared to dampen hopes that the coronavirus would eventually burn out for good and said the virus, which has been blamed for 200,000 deaths and decimating the world economy, will likely return each year.
Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, told a coronavirus press briefing earlier this month that the world may never return to the normal that was known before the outbreak.
"When we get back to normal, we will go back to the point where we can function as a society, he said. He continued, If you want to get back to pre-coronavirus, that might not ever happen in the sense that the threat is there.

"In the midst of the COVID-19 coronavirus disease pandemic that broke out globally in the first part of 2020, some social media users shared what they claimed was a prediction of that pandemic back in 1551 by the 16th century astrologer (and alleged soothsayer) known as Nostradamus:
There will be a twin year (2020) from which will arise a queen (corona) who will come from the east (China) and who will spread a plague (virus) in the darkness of night, on a country with 7 hills (Italy) and will transform the twilight of men into dust (death), to destroy and ruin the world. It will be the end of the world economy as you know it."
Will Coronavirus be out there in a year?
Sure it will. It’s now wild and loose in nature, and will be around in some form.
More specifically COVID-19, as Coronavirus is a generic term for viruses that have been around forever.
However, viruses mutate over time in the direction of becoming less deadly. Since they can’t reproduce on their own a virus that kills its host becomes an evolutionary dead-ender.
Like the common cold, flu, etc. etc. already are..
USA: B-52’s likely to come back each year.
I'm hoping what you say is true - if not, then vaccines will be problematic.
Have they ever developed a successful vaccine for ANY coronavirus?
From anything I’ve been able to find the answer is no.
Yet Point Guard Mussolini keeps insisting he’ll have one in 18 months.
The Monday Morning Waterboy shouts at the coach from his position behind the bench
It’s hanging around like a bad houseguest.
Heck - even though they have been making vaccines for the Flu, which does have a known after-the fact immunity factor, and those vaccines have a 30% or so efficacy...I'm thinking it will end up being one of those things we just have to learn to live with if it becomes cyclic and keeps making round each season.
That is normal. Every year flu shots are recommended.
I don’t see much to worry about here anyway. This thing just attacks the old and sick, and HCQ, quinine and Zinc are amazing.
I’m seeing this as a big nothingburger. I mean, sure, it may kill a few people (those that actually die from it and don’t just have it put on their death certificate), but we’ve dealt with mild viruses like this for a very long time.
On a related note:
“Francis Boyle, who drafted the Biological Weapons Anti-Terrorism Act of 1989, believes COVID-19 is a weaponized pathogen that escaped from Wuhan Citys Biosafety Level (BSL) 4 facility
A Lancet paper published by physicians who treated some of the first COVID-19 patients in China showed that patient zero, the one believed to have started the transmission, was nowhere near the Wuhan seafood market. Whats more, there were no bats sold in or even close to the market
SARS-CoV-2 appears to be a benign bat coronavirus modified to integrate spike proteins that allows the virus to enter human cells by attaching to ACE-2 receptors
The virus also appears to have been modified to integrate an envelope protein from HIV called GP141, which tends to impair the immune system. A third modification appears to involve nanotechnology, which allows the virus to remain airborne longer”
I haven't had a Flu shot for a while so i generally just practice limiting close contact and using good hygiene each season...so far, so good.
They’ll update and release as needed.
Since Im not an expert in medieval French and most people arent
meh
There’s incalculable versions of corona virus. They are all different. Once immunity occurs against one version it is gone for forever. This corona virus is no different. Unless it successively mutates into different versions, repeatedly, it will not require a new anti-body to fight it and will be gone forever. The Spanish Flu had one significant mutation which was responsible for a second round of infection in 1919-1920. After immuntiy to that version was developed it was gone for forever.
Comparing COVID-19 to all conrona viruses is illogical. Like one model year car to all cars. There may be a COVID-20 but most likely not a COVID-21.
Maybe a rename to the ‘Wuhan Fauci’ virus is in order,, being as taxpayer funds were sent to the institution with his and Obama’s blessings.
Then we must seal the borders until we have adequate medical, staff, beds supplies and ventilators.
