It may end up like trying to develop a vaccine for the "common cold"...

Heck - even though they have been making vaccines for the Flu, which does have a known after-the fact immunity factor, and those vaccines have a 30% or so efficacy...I'm thinking it will end up being one of those things we just have to learn to live with if it becomes cyclic and keeps making round each season.

There’s incalculable versions of corona virus. They are all different. Once immunity occurs against one version it is gone for forever. This corona virus is no different. Unless it successively mutates into different versions, repeatedly, it will not require a new anti-body to fight it and will be gone forever. The Spanish Flu had one significant mutation which was responsible for a second round of infection in 1919-1920. After immuntiy to that version was developed it was gone for forever.

Comparing COVID-19 to all conrona viruses is illogical. Like one model year car to all cars. There may be a COVID-20 but most likely not a COVID-21.
