With more than 650 people infected with the coronavirus at local long-term care facilities, Riverside County on Monday released a list of assisted-living homes with large COVID-19 clusters.
Most of the confirmed cases at such institutions 414 of them are among residents at skilled-nursing facilities, with cases reported at 40 of the countys 53 nursing homes, according to a news release from the county public health department.
Another 49 cases have been identified among residents at 14 assisted-living homes, and the remaining 211 known infections are among staff at the senior care facilities, officials said.

Outrageous.... but on second thought, if they don’t give two shiites about the unborn why would they about old folks?
Hmmm..... makes one wonder why HHS is not involved in this as this “policy” is endangering the health and welfare of those most susceptible. Some of these folks were no doubt forced/pressured into these Nursing homes by some governmental agency.... no?
THANK YOU MARK LEVIN,
Please make some legal suggestions these poor families of lost mothers, fathers, grandmothers and grandfathers can make to go after these scumbags!
This was likely about Medicaid costs.
Someone should see if Medicaid dual eligible patients were sent back sooner than Medicare patients and/or Medicare with Medigap.
Well, thanks to Albany, families in NYS can’t pursue either civil or criminal cases.
BTW, Oklahoma is closed to liberals. We don't want you. We don't like you. We like guns. And unborn children.
Go to kanada. They like people like you.
OANN’s entire annual budget is probably about how much someone like Hannity or Levin would want for an annual salary. Hard to make the jump to the big league.
All must be treated equally.
There can be no inequality even in the face of causing death. In the governor’s eyes, nursing home inequality is as bad as income inequality or income inequality.

Confirmed cases of coronavirus increases in skilled nursing
facilities
Riverside County has more than 650 confirmed coronavirus cases among the patients and staff
of nursing homes and assisted living facilities in the county.
The majority of patient cases (414) are among 40 skilled nursing facilities spread throughout the
county. There are 53 skilled nursing facilities in the county. In addition, 49 total patient cases
are at 14 assisted living locations. There are hundreds of other long-term care facilities with
varying levels of care provided. Riverside County has tested approximately 1,200 patients at
these facilities. There are 211 staff members who have tested positive for coronavirus among
skilled nursing and assisted living facilities.
We have known since the beginning of this response that congregate care facilities would
provide one of the biggest challenges, said Kim Saruwatari, director of Riverside County public
health. We responded to the challenge by forming our SOS teams who have reached out to
most of our facilities to support their efforts. We also have teams that have helped out with
some staffing when it was appropriate.
The four SOS (Skilled Nursing Facilities + Outreach Support) teams consist of workers from
American Medical Response, behavioral health and other healthcare partners who could be
involved in patient care. The teams target specific regions Northwest, Southwest, Central and
Eastern in the county and work with staff members at each facility to demonstrate proper
safety techniques, provide proper safety gear and educate them about COVID-19 to dispel
rumors and correct erroneous information.
I am very proud of our county public health leadership and rapid coordinated efforts within
our local skilled nursing facilities, said Board Chair V. Manuel Perez, Fourth District Supervisor.
In agreement with the Governors six principles, we must do all we can to provide care and protection to our most vulnerable. I also look forward to working with the state to ensure cost
recovery for our heavily impacted budget.
As of Sunday, the SOS teams have visited 144 facilities, and done follow up visits with 10.
Rehabilitation facilities and nursing homes present a challenge for health officials due to the
age and health conditions of the residents, as well as their close proximity to each other. The
county prioritizes investigations in these facilities due to the high risk of serious illness that
outbreaks pose.
Skilled nursing facilities are licensed by state regulators, but local health officials can offer
support to maintain services.

Hmmm,
Like forcing nursing homes to take hospital covid 19 outpatients ?
There were 0 zero cases, until these “pact” states in the new axis of evil, required nursing homes into accepting covid patients from hospitals.
Plandemic indeed.
Just want to add, my statement that if my mother dies I will hold newsome personally responsible is in no way to be construed as a threat.
My vote as a California citizen is the only power I have or intend to use.
