I entirely agree with you about body altering surgery (except in very extreme cases), but I still need to ask what is the age difference in those photos. The girl in the before photo clearly doesn’t need cosmetic surgery. I’m guessing she’s 20 years older in the after photo. Still shouldn’t have had the work done, but age does make a difference.
Or it’s just photshopped.
According to interviews and her Wikipedia page, in her 20’s (early 2000’s) she thought her then-lovely breasts were not symmetric, and she wanted 6-pack abs. The results of that surgery and liposuction were horrible — her breasts became slack and ugly, and her stomach looked like a battlefield. She had further surgery. In the midst of this there was a famous “wardrobe malfunction” at a 2004 red-carpet event where one breast became fully uncovered, revealing the deformity. She then lost a lot of weight (I’d guess from anxiety), resulting in the “after” picture’s skeletal appearance.
So I’d guess there’s perhaps 5 years between those photos. It’s really terribly sad, and a buddy in 2005 who had a major fan-crush on her in prior years went into a inconsolable depression over it.
The good news is she’s apparently bounced back somewhat and is still active in films.
