Cowa-dumb-ba: Crowds ignore social distancing rules at Southern California beaches
New York Post ^ | April 25, 2020 | Sara Dorn

California beachgoers crowded the sand as some communities opened their shorelines during a regional heat wave.

Coronavirus lockdowns were lifted at beaches across Orange County as temperatures surpassed 80 degrees.

Photos show some beachgoers gathered Friday in crowds that appear to violate social distancing rules.

Some of that could be staged to get sympathy.

The pressure on Gavin Newsome to re-open California is accelerating with each passing day, and it's not just due to the growing frustration of its citizens and business owners. Because Pelosi's nephew has aspirations of running for President in 2024 (it's rumored he thinks of himself as this generation's JFK, Jr.), and because everything this boy thinks, says or does results from a political calculation, his viability in a national election compels him to restore the state sooner rather than later ... no matter what he says he plans to do.

Although the Democrat/Left Party requires Newsome to do whatever he can to hurt Trump as he is in such a powerful position to do so, and although he needs to maintain his "favored-status" among those who actually control the Party in order to be selected by those powers (not by any caucus or by Democrat primary voters ... that's just not how things are done in the Democrat/Left Party) as the Left's presidential nominee in 2024 including the state's 55 electoral votes, it's clear Newsome self-tempers his actions so as to maintain his viability as a candidate for President at the national level.

One thing I must acknowledge: Newsome is very adept at balancing these often-conflicting requirements and may prove to be a formidible opponent in 2024. (As are any others in the Democrat/Left Party who have even the slightest "viability" as a Presidential candidate in 2024, Newsome is staying as far away from the 2020 election as is humanly and politically possible ... another very smart, though obviously essential, strategy.)

This has all been a great argument against LA politicians who want to turn this place into a public transport high rise high concentration city. NO. Our gas guzzling vehicles actually save lives, keeping us distant from our fellow commuters! Our spread apart houses also give us free sunny spaces and no need to share elevators with hundreds. Ha ha! Let’s see them push bullet trains now.

‘Hit the beach, and ponder what this hoax panic might tell you about the global warming models.’

this is quite clearly the trial run for the global warming economies...

You are right on but seeing your whole post about Gavin woke me up to what he is really doing. Yuck. We do not want this schmuck on the national stage. I’ll pull a RL and say I hope he fails.

“If folks have been living under the same roof why would they separate on the beach?“

Do not be use logic and common sense like a free, rational man because the fools infesting our government want to rule you. They would rather rule in hell then serve in heaven.

In suburban Nashville and more rural areas it’s like there is no panic at all to the populace except closed stuff which is supposed to open next week btw

In urban Nashville the black community which is 25 percent is continuing along same old same old

Hispanics are as usual working there betta off like they do here in this boom we have here ...like beehives building everything

They could care less about this nonsense

Whites are the split and it’s political

Leftist hipsters which are the plurality demographic in Nashville today are scared of their shadows

Regular southern whites not so much

I haven’t changed anything except I use more purell and I respect other folks rules bout spaces and my doc gave me chloroquine and some z paks

He and pharmacist are friends of mine

He told me to take a chloroquine every third day as does my asthmatic 19 year old

I lived in Manhattan in the 80s

I’d be more cautious there too but I’d still be out

Urban clusters are good choice for high paying jobs

In the case of pandemics and power goes out or Rodney King day or terrorism

Then it’s “you chose poorly”

Sucks I know ...I feel ya..I like Manhattan and I’m going to Los Anjellies about three days before the roll out

My plan anyhow..my kids love LA!

Where have I heard that before.lol

I have business there and try to visit annually

If we’re lucky maybe some snow still in view ...it’s quite a scene

This thread sounds a lot like the often mocked flubros and flubras.

Fake news. Most people are practicing social distancing. They are using telephoto lenses that makes it seem like they are closer together. They did the same thing when Florida opened some of their beaches.

"Maybe not as potent but it’s still going to be around. Just look at what’s happening in Ecuador."

"Russian Roulette is a one-in-six chance. I think the odds of suffering any ill effects from a virus (any virus) are quite a bit larger."

And then there is the group of people who have SARS-CoV-2 antibodies that never knew that they had the virus.

I think people are calculating their risk and decide it’s worth their risk to go to the beach.

Cowa-dumb-ba: Crowds ignore social distancing rules at Southern California beaches

A suggestion for the NY Post and other NYC papers - cluck at the people in your own city and stop trying to tell the rest of the country what to do. NYC has about half of the US coronavirus deaths. Long Island has about as many coronavirus deaths as all of California does.

We get that New Yorkers love to crowd on top of each other in their homes and in their subways, but the rest of us don't, even though the Democrats dream of making all of us live like New Yorkers. Get back to navel-gazing and stop bothering the rest of the country.

I don’t think Gavin Newsome is a “bad guy” though his “style” sometimes/often undermines his conscious effort to appear “genuine”. And although I think how he has managed things in California over the past several weeks has, in some respects, been reasonable and, in many respects, has been significantly better than other Democrat/Left governors have acted with their self-anointed vast new powers, I still don’t want any Democrat/Leftist and their innate totalitarianism anywhere near the Presidency, and I will do everything I can to prevent that from happening. Cheers!

We’ll know in roughly two weeks if these people are playing Russian roulette with virus.”

Yeah, the mythical “two weeks” we’ve been hearing about since this ideotic farce started. Russian Roulette my ass. Life is Russian Roulette, in one way or another, every day.
