The pressure on Gavin Newsome to re-open California is accelerating with each passing day, and it's not just due to the growing frustration of its citizens and business owners. Because Pelosi's nephew has aspirations of running for President in 2024 (it's rumored he thinks of himself as this generation's JFK, Jr.), and because everything this boy thinks, says or does results from a political calculation, his viability in a national election compels him to restore the state sooner rather than later ... no matter what he says he plans to do.

Although the Democrat/Left Party requires Newsome to do whatever he can to hurt Trump as he is in such a powerful position to do so, and although he needs to maintain his "favored-status" among those who actually control the Party in order to be selected by those powers (not by any caucus or by Democrat primary voters ... that's just not how things are done in the Democrat/Left Party) as the Left's presidential nominee in 2024 including the state's 55 electoral votes, it's clear Newsome self-tempers his actions so as to maintain his viability as a candidate for President at the national level.

One thing I must acknowledge: Newsome is very adept at balancing these often-conflicting requirements and may prove to be a formidible opponent in 2024. (As are any others in the Democrat/Left Party who have even the slightest "viability" as a Presidential candidate in 2024, Newsome is staying as far away from the 2020 election as is humanly and politically possible ... another very smart, though obviously essential, strategy.)

You are right on but seeing your whole post about Gavin woke me up to what he is really doing. Yuck. We do not want this schmuck on the national stage. I’ll pull a RL and say I hope he fails.
