New York Health Dept. Study: Coronavirus patients treated with Hydroxychloroquine were NO more likely to survive the infection than those who didn't get the drug

Patients treated with hydroxychloroquine have no better chance of survival than those who don't receive the drug hailed by Trump as a 'game-changer', results of a New York state Health Department trial suggest.

'I think from the review that I heard basically it was not seen as a positive, not seen as a negative,' said Governor Andrew Cuomo during CNN's coronavirus town hall.

Ultimately, the study, conducted by SUNY at Albany, is intended to involved some 4,000 coronavirus patients, but the preliminary results are from a sample of 600 patients.

Survival rates were no better among the group treated with the experimental drug than among those who got the standard supportive care, including oxygen, IV fluids and, if necessary, mechanical ventilation.

On Friday, shortly after preliminary results were reported, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) formally warned against using the drug outside of hospitals due to the risk that it could cause heart arrhythmias.

It's a major blow to President Trump, who has sung the praises of the drug, as well as to the global search for an effective treatment for coronavirus.

More than 50,000 Americans have died of coronavirus, and 890,000 have been infected.

Officials and doctors alike have hoped that hydroxychloroquine, a drug developed nearly half a century ago to treat malaria, might improve coronavirus patients' odds by combating severe inflammation resulting from the viral infection.

In lab tests, the drug showed promise, appearing to quell the 'cytokine storm' of immune signalling cells that causes inflammation to run wild in the body, overwhelming the lungs.

Hydroxychloroquine interacts with the human immune response, making it useful in treating autoimmune diseases like lupus.

It was even added the official lists of treatments to try for doctors treating COVID-19 patients in China and South Korea,

He gets respect and adulation. He is a savior. This community pays enormous honor and deference for their rabbis; he is at that level, a saver of lives.

Suppose a patient comes to him, 60 y.o. female, history of hypertension, experiencing fatigue, palpitations and shortness of breath.

Zelenko knows there is Covid19 in the community, at a fairly high incidence. He believes he needs to treat early, so he prescribes according to the protocol.

Does he do a test for the virus? No. He has already tested the community. He actually has said this. He does not want to wait days for results.

Does he run the test anyway to confirm the diagnosis, even though he starts to treat immediately? Unknown.

Does the patient have a fever? Unknown.

Does Zelenko do bloodwork that could indicate the presence of a viral infection? Unknown.

Does the patient have a low oxygen saturation? Unknown.

Xrays? Unknown.

The patient gets a prescription from the savior doctor and feels better. Did she recover from Covid 19? Or did Zelenko treat anxiety with a placebo?

And that is why we need data.

Intelligent and well-meaning people can fool themselves.

Deceivers exist everywhere.

Understand, I very much want Zelenko and his treatment to be the real deal.

Data. Please.

First, he never said it WAS a gamechanger, he said it COULD BE.

And it isn’t a “blow” to Trump, it is a blow to AMERICA, and the WORLD, that a cheap, simple treatment might not be effective.

It’s like they WANTED it to not work, because who cares how many people die so long as Trump is wrong.

My question is whether taking Zinc Picolinate has any prophylactic effects? The US diet is poor in zinc, partly because of soil leaching resulting from mono cropping.

If the benefits of zinc in the cell are as theorized by Zelenko, then I would think you need the ionophore for a prophylactic effect. I've been taking zinc gluconate and quercetin (reportedly a zinc ionophore) as directed for general immune support. Who knows if that's effective.

RE: This community pays enormous honor and deference for their rabbis; he is at that level, a saver of lives.

He already is respected in his community, why would he want more?

What about this other possibility -— he has actually seen it work on hundreds of patients and he really wants to help others.

He is already being pilloried and ridivuled by the mainstream media. Why bother with the aggravation?

RE: There are many other things that also work and are very inexpensive to kill viruses and bacteria among these are: Zinc , vitamin C , silver nanoparticles , High temperature ( saunas and hot tubs)

Well, no one is stopping anyone from doing all the above if they wish.

But hey, wait for a certain some one named Donald Trump to say something good about these... let’s see how long the presses and the FDA start to clamp down and ask ... where’s the scientific trials? Any side effects? etc.

Has anyone found an online copy of the letter Dr. Daniel Wallace sent to the FDA, about the safety of HCQ? Supposed to be about 10 pages, I heard.

He knows.

Ouestion: At what point in the patients’ illness was HCQ administrated?

It has been proved over and over in the ‘anecdotal’ tests the press loves to make fun of, if you’re in the hospital on a respirator, HCQ will offer little if any help.

HCQ’s best chance of helping you is early in the disease. The earlier, the better.

What happened to the other 3400 patients? Time to investigate NY & NJ deaths

I’ve warned past two weeks these ‘studies’ were rigged for failure.

Note the studies are funded by NIH offices of Fauci and protocol references accompany the budget charge codes. This means Fauci’s office is instructing hospitals and clinics on protocols.

Well, for one when has the sulfate been added to Hydroxychloroquine in past successful treatments for Covid-19?

How did sending elderly people with the virus to convalescent homes work out governor? Pretty smart to send sick patients to a facility that is full of people who the virus kills at a high rate. Bunch of clowns trying to push blame off on others.

thanks.

I made an assumption with a question mark.
You didn't answer the question mark. Instead, you asked a question.
I answered your question. Again you didn't answer my additional questions.
Instead, you ask another question in return. Kind of RATTY no ?

In answer to your next question:
Well, for one when has the sulfate been added to Hydroxychloroquine in past successful treatments for Covid-19?

You tell me... (Dr. Vladimir Zelenko doesn't mention sulphate with Hydroxychloroquine in his cocktail but he does with zinc.)

Did you read your own article? The first photo in the article:

I suppose I could take a snipe at you back, but I wont. I will point out that:
part of the article seems to be a hit piece on Pres. Trump as much as anything.

The article mentions 3 test groups but there are actually 4.
So did the article leave one out by mistake ? or is that all the SUNY at Albany chose to look at ?

Also, the article mentions the VA study:
"It comes after a Veteran Affairs study found that more COVID-19 patients treated with hydroxychloroquine died than did those who didn't receive the drug. "

they failed to mention that these VA patients were "last gaspers", per Sec. of VA:

""Responding to the results during an appearance on MSNBC, Wilkie said, “That’s an observational study. It’s not a clinical study. It was done on a small number of veterans; sadly, those of whom were in the last stages of life, and the drug was given to them.”

In light of the photo vs. the written word, I think my assumption with a question mark was proper.

I'll ask you again, do you know if there is a difference between Hydroxychloroquine and Hydroxychloroquine Sulpahte ?

FreeRegards

RE:I’ll ask you again, do you know if there is a difference between Hydroxychloroquine and Hydroxychloroquine Sulpahte

No I don’t. That’s why I asked. There are no mention of the word “suplphates” in any Hydroxychloroquine articles, just Hydroxychloroquine. Does it make a significant difference?

***Survival rates were no better among the group treated with the experimental drug than among those who got the standard supportive care, including oxygen, IV fluids and, if necessary, mechanical ventilation
I think it also depends on WHEN the drug is given, if you are already on a ventilator odds are nothing will help at that point ***

An excellent point. It was established early on the HCQ needed to be administered in the early stage of CoViD-19 to be most effective; the later the more iffy apparently. This Daily Mail story is balderdash! Laura Ingraham had a couple of specialists on tonight who were stunned by the FDA ruling. They pointed out that all over the world countries are stocking up on HCQ, in some cases by the millions of doses ... and experiencing great success.

I have to wonder if there are sick people in this country that would rather see people die than to see Donald Trump have any success.
