Four French frigates entered Lebanese docks on Tuesday, March 24th.
According to a report by Al-Joumhouria, the sophisticated French frigates are being gifted to the Lebanese Military and will be joining the navy.
The Lebanese government, and hence its military are fully controlled by Hezbollah and the terror organizations allies.
French ambassador to Beirut, Bruno Fouche, personally supervised the operation. Fouche even boarded one of the battleships that were delivered to Lebanon from the Toulon Naval Base in southern France.
At least in one instance, I think French naval forces did contribute to the 1830 victory over the Ottoman Turks in Algeria, when France invaded and colonized that North African territory for more than a century. That victory helped to bring an end to the US war against the Barbary pirates begun under Jefferson.
[Lebanese Navy has openings for Ocean Floor Guy.]
One would definitely be better off being a “Land Guy” who unhooks the ship from the thing, instead of going up against Israel.
To use George Costanza’s naval terms.
So, is the U.S. going to have to sacrifice to rescue France from the muskies like it rescued them from the Germans in WWII?
The Lebanese government, and hence its military are fully controlled by Hezbollah and the terror organization's allies. French ambassador to Beirut, Bruno Fouche, 'personally supervised the operation'.
I suppose the author meant to say warship instead of battleship. Its just inexcusably sloppy reporting.

I’m fair sure they’re just idiots and don’t know one from the other. Same thing happened during 9/11 when the USN moved ships into NY harbors to provide electricity from their onboard generators. Lots of crying out about “battleships” being sent to NYNY.
And reminds me of when the kerfuffle was going on at the Russian White House all these years ago.
Some high polish and parade painted AMD airborne capable armored personnel carriers arrived on scene and started disgorging troops. The American reporters call them “tank looking things”. Missed the hint that it was an airborne unit and *all* members of airborne units at that time were fully vetted communist party members.
Or little boy Bret Baier in his early days in Afghanistan, showing us a clip of aircraft refueling on the fly, and telling us about the “entrails” of the planes in the sky... meaning contrails.
journalists are idiots. all they learn in journo skool is how to identify the proper person in their chain o command or “news room” to fellate or drop trousers for in order to get more column inches or TV face time.
And Iceland is Benjamin
Right ?
With any luck they will sink in water shallow enough to make a nice fishing reef.
A half stick of dynamite is not a whole pack of full sticks. You still shouldn’t hand it to the village psycho.
Coupla torpedoes aught to do it.
Fast Parol boats armed with 1-20mm cannon and 2-.50cal MGs plus can carry a helicopter/drones. lots of deck space to mount missiles
A patrol boat armed with a 20mm cannon and two .50 cal M2s is not a frigate, nor a battleship.
Target practice for the Israeli Air Force.
“A frigate is not a battle ship.”
So what’s your point. Frigates are a warship with a mixed armament, generally heavier than a destroyer (in the US Navy) and of a kind originally introduced for convoy escort work.
My point was about sloppy journalism.
These are the people who say you should not have an AR-15 because “fully automatic weapons” are not needed for deer hunting.
It’s just sloppy.
Battleships are huge and, as far as I know, no nation today has an active battleship. Frigates, on the other hand, are very common and significantly smaller.
To say that Lebanon now has “battleships” is grossly inaccurate.
I am less concerned about “sloppy journalism”, than I am France gifting frigates (which are warships) to Lebanon!

“...use this as a suicide weapon loaded with explosives to destroy Israels oil & gas platforms.”
Don’t really have to. I didn’t mention some of the other accessories this little corvette can get:
The Gowind-class of surface ships can be outfitted with 16 x Mica RF or Aster 15 series surface-air missiles. For handling surface threats, she can also support 8 x Exocet, RGM-84 Harpoon or RBS-15 Mk 3 series anti-ship missiles AND 4 x torpedo launchers along the hull.
As long as they can get armament, they can hit and run the areas you mentioned with a 21 knot speed and close support chopper capacity to include an unmanned helo.
