France Donates Four Deadly Battle-Ships to Hezbollah – Report
BREAKINGISRAELNEWS ^ | April 6, 2020 , 1:42 pm | David Sidman

Four French frigates entered Lebanese docks on Tuesday, March 24th.

According to a report by Al-Joumhouria, the ‘sophisticated’ French frigates are being ‘gifted’ to the Lebanese Military and will be joining the navy.

The Lebanese government, and hence its military are fully controlled by Hezbollah and the terror organization’s allies.

French ambassador to Beirut, Bruno Fouche, ‘personally supervised the operation’. Fouche even boarded one of the battleships that were delivered to Lebanon from the Toulon Naval Base in southern France.

Maybe they’ll stop burning down all the French landmarks now?

> France is nuts! <

Lebanon was once a French colony, and France still has a weird paternalistic view of the place.

The Med is a very small busy piece of water. Tight quarters so to speak, no place to run and hide. It will surely add some tension to the area. It was tough in the early 70’s. This will raise the level.

Looks like one of our LCS’s. Cannon fodder for the Arleigh Burke’s.

These are no even frigates but fast patrol craft. Nothing to get in an uproar about:

Any Israeli sub skipper should be able to do it on an afternoon watch, with only the section tracking party.

Hezbollah is soooo good at maintaining machines of war. Wonderif those frigates come with a French maintenance policy?

The frigates gifted are shallow water vessels.

Sensors and processing systems:

DCNS Polaris combat management system
Terma Scanter 6002 I-Band surface search radar
Terma Scanter 4102 I-Band air and surface search radar
Sagem EOMS (Electro Optical Multisensor System) NG
Sagem SIGMA 40D Inertial measurement unit
LinkSrechts Helicopter visual landing aid system

Electronic warfare & decoys:

Thales Altesse & Vigile LW ESM/COMINT system
Lacroix Defense & Security Sylena decoy system

Armament:

1 × 20 mm cannon
2 × .50-cal machine guns

Aircraft carried:

1 × 5-ton helicopter or 1 × 10-ton helicopter (supported)
Schiebel Camcopter S-100 unmanned helo

Aviation facilities: Helicopter pad and hangar

The vessel was capable of a variety of missions usually associated with offshore patrol of economic zones. But it provides Hezbollah with a light attack vehicle to harass small boaters.

Speed: 21 knots (39 km/h; 24 mph)
Range: 8,000 nmi (14,800 km; 9,200 mi) at 12 knots (22 km/h; 14 mph)
Endurance: 30 days

Could be a dedicated nuisance. If any of the armament wa taken off during the time over the last three years to chase fishing boats, it can easily be replaced. 20 MM and .50 cal are common.

The ships are offshore patrol vessels. They are only threats to fishing boats violating Lebanon's EEZ.

LOL the French have A SOMEWHAT sketchy naval history.
I believe its last successful outing was the battle of Chesapeake bay and the blockade of Baltimore harbor during the American revolutionary war. not sure I’d want there ships.
I truly doubt that Hezbollah has any noteworthy seamen in the ranks.

If they are being given away, you know they are obsolete and near the end of their service life.

Deeper the water, bigger the fish. It gets ugly out in deep water sometimes. Most of those big fish think 21 knots is ahead 1/3. The damn flying things are screamers. Hope Abduh got his panties on tight.
