President Donald Trump previewed a difficult period ahead of the coronavirus infection peak on Saturday at the White House.
We are really coming up onto a time thats going to be horrendous, Trump said.
He noted that the United States had not experienced a situation like a coronavirus crisis before.
Were getting to that point where its going to really be some very bad numbers, Trump said.
Currently, there are over 8,400 deaths from coronavirus. New York has over 3,500 deaths from the virus and New Jersey has 846 deaths.
Governor Andrew Cuomo admitted Saturday that New York had not reached the apex of deaths from the virus.

Not every thing in the NYT should be disregarded.
Argue with the facts as presented, not the source.
ny probably should have shut down the Chinese NY celebrations and the subways, etc...
but this is nothing new....they estimated swine flu as well...if you were symptomatic, and negative for regular flu, they classified you as having the swine flu.....
nyc is a bad example of covid in America because they did not do what they should have done and now they're suffering the consequences....
japanese are on culture...look at America...we all ready have the race mongers out...
All democrat strongholds..
The worst recent flu seasons have 80,000 deaths in the US. We may double or triple that, but that's hardly the end of the country. It will be comparable to the 1968-69 Hong Kong flu which killed 100,000 out of 200,000,000 (165,000 with today's population)
The weekly numbers match the Jan 2018 peak. Both are about 6,000 deaths in one week. COVID is still rising and will double or perhaps triple that. The current pause in economic activity is helping reduce that peak, but we have to get back to work, it's not worth stopping the economy for months.
He should let the experts deliver the bad news... for the most part.
Trump has done magnificently...the rats want to use this virus for political gain have tried to box Trump into a corner, but every single time he has outfoxed them....every single time....
Please, President Trump - just can the hyperbole.
Geesh, go back to tweeting...
no fever..not unusual symptoms either...we're self isolation as told....
Donald Trump is not predicting anything. He is RELAYING predictions from OTHER PEOPLE, his advisors.
Agreed. There are some good articles that strike a balance. But most are shock articles.
“Not every thing in the NYT should be disregarded.”
Everything in the NYTs should be mistrusted.
“Argue with the facts as presented, not the source.”
Fact is, NYT hates President Trump and America, and will print anything and everything that undermines both.
In a new world with thousands of news sources, only the most exciting get looked at (generally).

High population density & low cleanliness is why.
Here in NY, she’s on TV every 20 minutes doing an infomercial about social distancing and washing your hands and wearing masks
Cuz theyre cooking the books
Bet almost all deaths are in the WuFlu column, no matter what
Except for an article in National Review this week, Ive seen nothing about this, yet it is absolutely critical. Stories like yours are legion here in California, and my son says Colorado, too, that we had a first wave that hit here in December January and February that people just chalked up to bad flu. Thats why were not having an explosion out here; we already have some degree of herd immunity. A friend of mine put it best to me: Like flu, but unlike any flu Ive had before. Me, I almost died from SARS in 1998, and what I had around Washingtons Birthday was more like that than any flue Ive ever had. My primary symptoms were extreme fatigue and fever/chills. Ive personally been in contact with a number of family and friends who report the same thing in the same period, with different symptoms more prominent in different cases
