Walmart announced it will limit the number of people inside its stores at the same time during the COVID-19 pandemic.....Starting Saturday, we will limit the number of customers who can be in a store at once. Stores will now allow no more than five customers for each 1,000 square feet at a given time, roughly 20 percent of a stores capacity, according to a release. Store employees will start a line at a single-entry door and will tell customers to go there to queue. They will then be allowed in the store one-by-one, according to the company.
Associates and signage will remind customers of the importance of social distancing while theyre waiting to enter a storeespecially before it opens in the morning, the store wrote.
Customers will be admitted inside one at a time when a store reaches capacity.
Well also institute one-way movement through our aisles next week in a number of our stores, using floor markers and direction from associates. We expect this to help more customers avoid coming into close contact with others as they shop, the Arkansas-based retailer said.
And once customers check out, they will be directed to exit through a different door than they entered, which should help lessen the instances of people closely passing each other, it said.
Target on Thursday announced a similar measure to promote social distancing as the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) virus continues to spread.

Wall off NYC.
We will be fine.
I don’t need no stinking “social distancing” guidelines or “stay home” requests because the nervous Nellies have become so paranoid, so anti-social, and so downright hostile that I really don’t want to be around them.
Shopping is a chore to be dreaded and endured.
People cringing and backing up against shelves when you pass them...I’d like to tell them to “get a life” because what they have is mere EXISTENCE.
But I’d probably get arrested for “inciting”.
There is no First Amendment anymore.
This is not America.
The ChiComs won.
I really miss Kmart!
Naw this is just Wal Mart’s doing.
Dollar General is still open. If you are lucky you still have a Kmart.
Guess they wont need to restock as often..,,
Time to order online
Sick of being herded like a dumb sheep
Wow, are they going to put up stop lights at the intersections of aisles?
L8r
The other retailers will fall in line, monkey-see/monkey do.
Just like the State Governors.
“I really miss Kmart!”
Move to Guam! The largest Kmart in the world is there. It’s really nice
I'm very anti-social already.
Keep your distance.
Some things like paper towels, soap and toilet paper Walmart and Target wont let you order online and have it shipped. It will say “Only available In Store Only”.
This mat change at some point but I do not know.
Saw this already yesterday in
Danvers MA; I saw the line and left
the parking lot, not wanting to
wait.
I visited Wallyworld yesterday afternoon, first time in a week or so, lots of people, about half of them masked and with terror in their eyes. Nothing much had been picked clean that I noticed, the soups were about the only grocery section which looked like it had been hit a little hard. They had only one entrace open and had six greeters, plus they had crowd control barriers to keep the in line going in and the out line coming out.
Well sh*t. Walmart was one of the few bastions of sanity among all this hysteria.
I’ve found that smaller stores where I don’t normally shop have some of those things like toilet paper and other paper products (napkins, paper towels, tissues) - like Dollar General or K-Mart. I rarely shop in them, but have been in them more in the past month than I’d been in the past three years. Small refrigerated/frozen sections, but plenty of canned food, snacks, toiletries, etc.. - with minimal numbers of shoppers.
Or perhaps people will post the big crowds of people standing in the rain around the start of the line for entry and embarrass the retailers.
Essentially this is resulting in crowds asshole to elbow outside the stores. Sometimes just a little well earned ridicule can solve a problem.
Just used Walmart Pickup to get groceries. Very efficient, quick and easy. I have a new appreciation for Walmart.
I saw this going on at Home Depot yesterday. About 20 people lined up to get in. I got back in my car, drove home, and downloaded the files to make the tool I needed (tub drain wrench) on my 3D printer. It’s printing now - should be waiting for me when I wake up tomorrow.
Fortunately, I think I’m stocked up on everything I need to get through this mess without having to shop soviet-style.
