Anthony Fauci gets his own security detail following threats to his safety

Some right-wing supporters of President Trump have labeled Fauci, head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, as a member of the “deep state” trying to undermine Trump’s reelection.

In the past, Trump has supported measures to re-open the economy by Easter.

Fauci on occasion has stepped to the podium to correct or amend statements from Trump on the virus, related timelines and potential cures.

Fauci declined to comment Wednesday as to whether he’s been given added security — but Trump jumped in.

“He doesn’t need security. Everybody loves him,” Trump said. “Besides that, they’d be in big trouble if they ever attacked him.”

But by that point, a Justice Department official Tuesday had on already signed off on authorizing HHS to provide its own detail to Fauci, according to the Washington Post.

I don’t think Fauci and Birx are evil, but they are living the epidemiologist’s ultimate wet dream.

They are getting to run an entire society’s response to an epidemic exactly the way they’ve been teaching for decades - including all the models and graphs, none of which they can be held to.

It’s all well and good but it’s also a bit of a fairy tale.

I don’t appreciate Fauci dismissing new treatments as not being possible for months. Again I think that’s because he has a bias toward managing this as an epidemiologist.

I like how the derp media connects the dots between this factual statement and right wing violence/threats. The vast majority of political violence and threats comes from the derp side of the aisle. Just saw a commercial from the White House that featured Fauci and Blix. We must all suffer like the old people in quarantine was the message. Everyone has to be in quarantine. Why can we just quarantine old people? The rest of us can work and make sure old people are taken care of.

I just took a quick look at the death rate per age bracket. It certainly drops dramatically the younger you get but if only the elderly were quarantined, chances are with the amount that would get the virus because of how easily it spreads, the deaths would still be astronomical.

I would think that the more younger people it can infect, it has a better chance to mutate into something that a younger person’s body can’t handle. It’s a numbers game. Reduce the number of mutations by reducing the number of people infected.

So far c-virus is not going crazy with mutations. But my logic says that even if it mutates, a good c-virus vaccine will immunize against a new mutation. That the original immunization might not be 100% effective but will be 85%-95% effective with mutations, which is still very helpful/ Meaning you catch the mutated c-virus, you will not suffer much.

There is something about Fauci, a gut feeling that I dislike that is completely physical, his posture, facial expressions, etc.

If Trump thinks he is serviceable in his role, I fully accept that. Heck, I have zero knowledge of him, how could I do otherwise?
